Importance of staff

Hola all. I've picked up OOTP12 recently and have just begun my first ever major league season. I've played plenty of fictional leagues in OOTP8 & 10 but this is the first time I'm trying a major league with all the bells and whistles (except scouting). I'm just looking for a bit of feedback from players who have used the coaching option on how important staff ratings REALLY are. I have numerous great coaches available in the free-agent pool that are alot better than my existing ones and am wondering if it's worth spending an extra million or two to get the best staff around. Thx for any replies and have a good day

I think you will find the effect real but subtle. The key question is whether you have money to burn. If you are in danger of losing money by going over the cash limit of your league, by all means, spend it on upgrading coaches. But remember that this use of $ is competing with other things, like another player, better player development, more international scouting, etc.

One thing to consider, although it takes a while to see. In your organization, how often do you get a guy with good potential who does not reach that potential by his 26th birthday? If that is happening a lot, something needs to be improved (quality of coaching, player development money, your own promotion decisions).

I am still in doubt that coaches have any tru impact on the game. But i tend to have good players and my ratings as mgr are maxed out.
