Unable to make my league an official OOTP Online League

I've been running an OOTP 10 league and we're now in the process of upgrading to OOTP 12. I've ported my league file over from OOTP 10 to 11 to 12 and I've ensured all my online league settings are 100% correct.

When I ask the game to make my league and official OOTP Online League it says it can't because my target paths are all blank. Well, they're supposed to be blank. Thanks to all the OOTP online league hacking issues of a couple of years ago every folder that my game accesses has it's own FTP account and therefore it doesn't have to worry about target paths.

Why would the game even care to check this when adding the league to the directory? As long as I'm satisfied that my league file is working properly that should be good enough for OOTP.

Instead of having the league path be blank, change it to:

/

That slash signifies the root directory that account logs in to the FTP server. You can put in the slash and verify that it still works to ftp. plus having the slash in there should solve OOOL's requirement to have at least something in there.

Ok, here's another problem related to the same online league. I ported the league file over from OOTP X to a demo version of OOTP 11 then to my full copy of OOTP 12. I went in and fixed all the online league settings and they work from my end, but they aren't being written into the league file that I create and upload for others. They're getting error 201 can't connect when they try to do anything. I had them use the ftp logging troubleshooting function and got this in return:

Code:
FTP_CLIENT object created
FTP_CLIENT callback rate set to 300 ms
Set connect-, read- and idle-timeout to 30000 ms
Set connect-, read- and idle-timeout to 30000 ms
FTP_CLIENT::open - host set to yourdomain.com
FTP_CLIENT::open - user set to ftp user name
FTP_CLIENT::open - password set
FTP_CLIENT::open - port set to 21
set to passive mode
Closed connection
FTP_CLIENT object destroyed

Chilkat session log:
So you can see from the host and username listed above that the settings are generic and not the ones my league file needs. Any ideas why this is happening?

The league settings file doesn't get included in the league file for security reasons. You have to send the GM accounts file from the settings folder to them outside of the game-generated league file.

Some advice on OOOL leagues. Don't do it, now - until they work out some more of the bugs.

I'm trying to convert from v11 to v12, and makng it OOOL seems to be a huge mistake that is un-doable. My league might downgrade to v11 for next season due to this. Exports not showing up, and it's showing more openings in the league than we have (ie. it shows feeder international leagues as "open").

Just a note, I think Andreas saw your comment about being able to turn off recruitment for a league. If you hold off for the next patch, I believe there should be an option to turn off the option for people to apply for your league, which would help solve your feeder international leagues issue.

On the other issue, day one OOOL leagues were definitely unplayable. I'm currently doing testing myself to see what else needs to be fixed, but it has come a very long way. I can offer a compromise for people though.. you can upgrade your league to OOTP12 but just not join it to OOOL until you feel more confident with OOOL to work the way you want it to. In the meantime, if there are missing features in OOOL that you need, or things that don't work right, please log issues for them. That is what I've been doing!

That's great, OOTP has some awesome developers. I think some options they need are to: 1) be able to deactivate OOOL, 2) be able to change or specify where exports go vis-a-vis OOOL, I would prefer an option to contine on my server, as this configuration on my computer is not checking the OOOL server for exports. And as you mentioned, a 3) might be to be able to turn off recruitment for certain teams

Cheers,
