Any way to effect ethnicity?

If you edited every other country out of the world XML file except the U.S. and set the modern U.S. ethnicity to 100% black you could do it. You might also want to change the name files some (that was eighty years ago). But it's doable.

How do I set US ethnicity to 100% black? That's what I can't locate in the league set up.

You'd have to do it elsewhere. I am not sure if it would be in the ethnicities file - heck, we might not even have one in OOTP 12, I haven't looked - or in the world file. But it's in one of the two.

I don't think that would work. For any league that is set in the US, the ethnicity breakdowns are hardcoded. So even if you eliminated all the other nations and set the ethnicity to 100% black, you'd still end up with a bunch of caucasian and hispanic Americans in the mix.

So how do we now make a pre1947 league?

If true this needs to be changed back to the way it was.

I went all testy on this and it is in fact not hardcoded and can be done.

First edit the world XML file until the U.S. is the only country. (Back up your whole directory first!)

Then edit the ethnicities.txt file so that every entry, after its ID number, reads "U.S. (Modern),1000,0,0,0,0" - in other words

0,U.S. (Modern),1000,0,0,0,0
1,U.S. (Modern),1000,0,0,0,0

and so on. You then get all black teams and can do negro leagues. The names still aren't right, though. Did anyone ever do a negro league name set? You're kind of going to need one.

You could do it the same way using "U.S. (Modern),0,0,0,1000,0" for your values instead.

P.S. In both cases I set all foreigners to 0. That may or may not be critical.

I forgot who created this but, I actually have a Negro league era nameset. I've attached the nameset file in a zip. Note, the name files were configured for prior versions and not for OOTP12. You will have to make some modifications to the name files to use with OOTP12.

Currently my league is in 1920, it's a fictional and it is ALL white right now. I just do not remember what I did to get it this way.
