3 Man Rotations
I'm interested in having a 3 man rotation for college and HS feeders.
Does the AI adjust the pitcher's stamina? So If I used CC Sabathia in a college feeder does the AI adjust so when CC pitches his next start he will be at full strength? Any differences if when using a MLB type scheduling playing every day as opposed to a college schedule where in general they play Fri-Sun? I'm still trying to trouble shoot the "No starting pitcher" error message that continues to crash the game. I'm thinking that the crash may be due to 3 man rotation and starters being too tired to pitch. |

I believe the adjustment would have to come in the schedule for the league. Pitcher stamina is not going to increase because of a three man rotation, the schedule is going to have to be adjusted to match a weekend only schedule to get realistic results without editing the players.I've never tinkered enough to know if that is even possible.

The "No starting pitcher" is your problem. Check the AI controlled teams to make sure they all have a rotation filled out. Try going to league setup and running computer manager on all teams. |

You'd probably need to change the setting away from the default (low?), but I don't know off-hand if that would cause the pitchers to just throw more pitches per start or let them "regenerate" faster.
I don't have the game in front of me atm, but you could start a historical league from a time when 3-man rotations were used (no idea when that would be), and see what the starter settings are, then copy those and use them for your feeders. |

I was hoping leaving reliever use in modern day that they would pitch more like 100 a day and used up the bullpen...but it did not work that way. |

How do I get the change to 3 man rotation to stick? My feeder is in 1964 with auto adjust totals for historical accuracy & auto adjust league strategy. Are one of these factors affecting my 3 man rotations?

The auto-adjust league strategy will change the rotation settings to match what was used in real life.

i pretty much have always run a 3 man rotation with a 90 game schedule. The games still come out to one off day a week or so. I have the overall pitching set at normal stamina. This gives me a proper number of hitters. I noticed with setting the overall stamina to high or very high you get less pitchers and more outfielders.
This is where the change needs to come for everything to work properly in my league. In the modifier section look for "starting pitcher stamina" and change that to 1.300. With that starters come up with proper rest (or at least for me). With 90 games: the pitchers at the major league level tend to get 25 to 30 starts (depending on performance and injury). the league leaders get between 16-21 wins with around 2.50 ERA's. A couple pitchers always get 200 innings. Last edited by redwa; 07-18-2011 at 05:03 PM. |
