Suggestions for iOOTP

I want to create this thread as a sounding board for suggestions to improve and enhance iOOTP.

As promised to Raz Algool your suggestion tops the list:

1) Change/Modify Manager Name
- I think this one is pretty self explanatory. This feature is currently available in OOTP12 under the OOTP > Add/Edit Human Manager

2) Add the ability to "Confirm Choice" for draft picks.
- I've "fat-fingered" a few draft picks on accident. Not that the selections were poor, it would be nice to have a confirmation notice that says, "Are you really sure you want to draft X?"

3) Owner Recommendation for draft picks
- Since "Scouts" are currently not available in iOOTP due to hardware limitations. I think a nice alternative to the "Head Scout Recommendation" feature in OOTP would be the ability to have the owner recommend a player.

4) Owner sells/relocates team
- It's might not be very common for an owner to sell or relocate their team, but I think as an added off-season twist it would be nice to see a team relocate or an owner sell their team. Imagine taking over a big market team and your current owner sells to a group of buyers who then immediately cut 20% of your 180M payroll.

Just a few quick thoughts.

Bump in thread - also would like to request this as a sticky. If not, that's fine.

I'd also like to add the ability to place players on a 60-day DL. The only way currently is let the AI manage injuries or use the feature (under DL > Action) to let the AL Manage Team.

I'll place some screen captures up when I have a free moment. I've been painting the basement (36X13 foot room, with 7 foot high ceilings.) I am painting the ceiling, priming and painting the walls and the trim.

There really isn't any need for the 60 day DL since there is no use of the 40 man roster, there would be no logic in putting your player on the 60 day DL.

I kind of like some of you other suggestions though, specially the one about recomended player in the draft.

I've seen a team get sold (1 time), so that's already in the game code somewhere.

- Trade block.

- This is most important to me... EDIT FICTIONAL LEAGUE! I want a league with DH batting. I'm sure others really want inter-league play. Oh, and being able to play in the "World Series" instead of the "Round 3" would be cool too.

- Better, in-depth manual. Especially with regards to team strategy.

- A listing of 'soon to be' free agents so that you can plan out who you sign and don't sign. I let some pitchers go and came to find out they were basically the only free agent starters that weren't even older or less talented. That messed me around a bit and would have been avoidable IRL.

I think I wrote the Suggestions thread before you mentioned that owners can sell their team in this game because I remember we spoke about this in another thread. I can't wait to see it happen to my team. I wonder, though, if I have to constantly lose for that to happen or if it is random.

I'd have to agree with the "edit fictional league" request. Most of my desires have to do with customizing fictional leagues. As in:
1) editing the names of the leagues, play-offs, etc
2) turning the DH on or off per league
3) establishing league structure (two 8 team leagues, two 16 team leagues with 2 divisions each, etc)
4) editing stats performance (creating a fictional deadball league by adjusting the stats engine, or a 30s style bash-fest fictional league)

Thanks!

the new owner is random as my new owner came in after I lost the second round of the playoffs. It was not a bad season at all so it was not for that reason.

and I agree with just a few customization to fictional leagues. My main one is choosing the divisions and naming them. I'd like to put new york teams together so nice rivalries can start. Same with texas teams. Usually those states get plenty of teams in my leagues. Also I dont like seeing SL1, SL2 and what not when news articles appear.
