Are all the scouts wrong about J.P.???
I'm in 2015 in the MLB Quickstart. A few years back, I traded for J.P. Ramirez from the Nationals organization. Now he's in the majors but 2 different excellent scouts as well as OSA and the rest of the league think he's an untalented scrub. My scout says his ratings are 12/14/12/9/12 (out of 20) - he's given 1 star. My manager won't use him unless forced to do so and then insists on batting him 8th. The "problem" is that in 584 AB he's hit 52 2B and 36 HR with a .327 BAVG and a .611 SLG.
So...my question is...are all the scouts wrong??? Or is he a big fluke? Everyone with similar stats has much higher ratings.

Given his low overall rating, I'd expect that his other ratings (fielding, running) aren't very good, or that he's in a talent-rich position.
His hitting ratings are pretty good. The editor would give his resulting stats (in a neutral, MLB-style league) as 34 2B, 23 HR with a .284/.340/.493 line. So I think that the case here is that compared to the rest of the league he doesn't have as good of ratings; just he can hit well. But I've also had 1 star players with good hitting ratings develop shortly after into 3, 4 and 5 star overall players. |

Thanks. I forgot that the stars are relative. He is not a good fielder. I guess we'll see. I'm tired of moving him out of the 8th spot!
