Where did the nicknames and managers go?

A friend of mine has trouble when going to a team setup screen, it doesn't list the team nickname, or any of the minor league team names and doesn't show the managers name of the team for any of his 30 teams? But it does show the coaches real names and scouts, what folder or file is he missing?

I have not tried it but if he is playing challenge mode those things may not be available to edit.
