The World Series was the after thought, there wasn't a doubt in my mind or probably many other peoples that the Sox wouldn't roll through the Series after what they did to the Yanks.

I also loved '01 as well, I remember running around the house screaming when Gonzo blooped that hit over the infield... make a Dbacks fan out of me for a little while at lease.... As the saying goes, it's the Redsox or anyone who beats the Yankees!
Part of that stemmed from game 7 of the 2003 ALCS when Grady left Pedro into long and Boone taking Wake deep in extras. It made 04 all that sweeter.

The worst of it all was I thought 86' was going to be a cakewalk with Clemens pitching game 6. Even in game 7 of that series, the way Bruce Hurst had pitched I thought they could take that game, and if memory serves me correct they held a 3-0 lead into the 5th?

I'd change a player at the beginning of the season. Just pick a player and edit them. Make sure you hit enter after changing names. They will not save otherwise.

Best way to do it. Does he play ball now? Pitcher or position player? I always loved pitching but my arm isn't exactly a cannon, after that SS and RF.

I hate 2nd and 3rd

Is there a file on the internet with high school/college feeders already set up? Or can anyone upload one? I'm going to try to use a feeder for the first time, and I'd like to get schools that I know in there... When the game creates them are they fake high schools or is there a database for real ones in the game? I may have to create the school I went to. (Wachusett, in Massachusetts)

WRHS in Holden? Small world. I'm from Central MA myself.

Does anyone have any tips on scheduling a tournament? I want to have an open double elimination style tournament each year for my league but am completely intimidated by the scheduling aspect.

What position(s) does your son play? Is he planning on trying to play in college as well?

Are any of you playing OOTP on a machine running a linux OS?
I couldn't get the OOTP11 linux verson to install on my machine running Linux Mint (the installer always froze at the point where it was actually supposed to install the game), but I got the Windows version running just fine using Wine. Not by drinking wine ... but then I again I probably was doing that as well.

Does anybody else see the irony in me making a comment about me being gracious which is then totally misunderstood by a man who takes the handle of a really bad movie? Or any humor in the fact that he left out the verb that the sentence needed?

BTW, Wolf is my last name. Just plain "Wolf" was already taken, so I put an article in front of my name. Really cunning, huh? Best watch yourself.

gehrig38 I'm curious how you set-up the playoffs for the HS, JUCO, and NCAA feeder leagues in your world. Any insight would be appreciated.

Son of a biscuit...

So it's almost mid may in year 2. I saw a news item for guys with the most service time in my NAIA league, my high school league.
I though, hmm, what better time to do what those guys said and go back and reset their service time to zero.... But there was an odd tick to my thinking, couldn't put my finger on it..
So... I did. I went into the NAIA menu, made sure that league was selected, and reset, what I thought, was THEIR service time, that leagues. Did the same for JUCO and my NCAA divisions....
I think you smart guys know why I am crushed...
It reset my entire games service time, all leagues.....
That sucks.

HS is setup into two leagues, like 10 divisions of 5 teams each. I googled top 10 programs in 20 states, took those teams outside of the local ones I did myself.
Bunch of rounds before title, all single elimination.
Juco was only 20 teams, much shorter with best of 3 titles. NCAA, I think, is best of 3 for like 5 rounds.

I personally told you how to do that without erasing EVERYONE's service time.....

I did this too in my league (I was probably 70 years in at the time) . I spent about 3 to 4 hours over a couple of days fixing the problem. So, it's not a complete loss- I used the previous years almanac and added one year to all major leaguers.

Hopefully you had a backup? Also keep in mind the issue (bug?, linked below) I found with importing an edited roster file.

I'll bring it up here since we are talking about resetting service time via export\import of rosters. I ran across this as did my son..

http://www.ootpdevelopments.com/boar...rvice-fix.html

In the end I have not reset my time due to this issue. I play slow (play out every game) so it works better for me to ignore the days of service as the AI moved so many players around I had guys on my MLB roster that I wouldn't have considered putting there for at least another season starting their MLB time way too soon. If a fix comes in a patch I'll do it then.

I saw that post, but personally I have not had this issue. I export/import once every season.

But even if you HAVE this problem, it is only a one-time thing to get the service time right.

I would agree if it didn't result in players starting their MLB clocks too soon. With my slow style of play I'd rather my MLB caliber players came up "when they should" and live with the few feeder players that will actually make it to MLB get their first year service ~30 days too soon. Now if I simmed chunks of time and accumulated >60 days I'd probably go for the fix.

Interesting to me that both my son and I saw this happen. With you saying you don't see it I wonder if is because we both tried it during the season? I'll try it again in the off season. I don't see why importing the roster would trigger the AI redoing all leagues (I would understand it redoing the specific imported roster) in season but not redoing them in off season. Just seemed to me the error was the AI redoing all league rosters instead of the specific league. Never occurred to me it might not redo any of the rosters in the off season.

I'll finish my season, will take a bit of time, and give the import another go. I'll then update my post on the issue and my support ticket with what I find.
