How to increase budget?
I was trying to figure out the worst team to start the game with and noticed a pretty strong opening trend. It appears budget is linked with Fan Interest. I havent ran through multiple seasons to check this yet. It would make sense if it was since if the fans were interested in the team and showing up for games that the owner would be more willing to spend money because more would be coming in. Looks like I might need to keep some of those border line high cost free agents that are extremely popular locally.
Code:
Team Budget Interest Pittsburgh 65 51 Cleveland 70 51 Kansas City 75 51 Tampa Bay 80 51 San Diego 80 51 Oakland 90 58 Florida 90 58 Arizona 90 58 Houston 95 58 Toronto 100 58 Baltimore 110 65 Seattle 110 65 Milwaukee 110 65 Washington 110 65 Texas 120 72 St Louis 120 72 Cincinnati 120 72 Atlanta 120 72 Colorado 120 72 LAN 120 72 NYN 130 79 San Francisco 130 79 Minnesota 140 79 Detroit 140 79 LAA 140 79 ChicagoN 140 79 ChicagoA 170 86 Boston 180 93 Philadelphia 200 100 NYA 220 100 Last edited by tc66tc; 06-24-2011 at 12:58 PM. |

You can increase the budget by having good seasons. The maximum budget, I think, is determined by market size.
Seattle's budget maxes out 170 million and even with a few championships. The market size was only average, compared to Boston's "very big". |

dont forget a new owner. In my fictional league I got a new owner after 2 seasons and he gave a nice cash boost to my team which was sweet.

Sometimes the current owner passes away. Although it would be a little more realistic if they occasionally sold the team (especially if it performs poorly for a number of years).

I dunno what happened. I got a message at the start of the new season letting me know of a new owner. Im not sure what happened to the last guy. But my budget went from 150m to 210m so it was pretty class.
