Contract Extensions Beyond Player Options...
Hey guys,
I did a search for this but found nothing... I am curious about whether a contract extension will override or remove a player option. Example: I have a player who is heading into his last non-optional season. He has an additional season left beyond that, which is a player option. He is willing to negotiation an extension with me right now. If I sign him to say a three-year extension, how would that affect the player option? Would it remain in the same year? Could he effectively option himself out of four seasons of contract after signing the extension? Or would the extension negate the option? Any help is appreciated, if anybody has run into this situation before.

I believe that it overrides the option year, or it did in 11. I have a related question, what is the buyout for player options? I know what it is in team options, but in player options, does it take money away from me or give me money?

There shouldn't be a buyout for a player option. If there is it's a bug.
