Cot's Baseball Contracts

For now I will wait with playing this game, first have all bugs fixed with a major patch and then I need to fix the contraccts myself before I can start playing. I want my game to be as close as the real thing.
No after you've updated the contracts/service time, (I've also spent several hours doing this, using Cots and baseball reference) you can play using the work you've done, any patches released will fix bugs etc etc just wont bring in any player updates/changes in your save game.

This is getting frustrating. I replaced the files and still dont see alot of changes. Carlos Gonzalez is very under rated as are many prospects. I listed all od this in the Roster post on this board. Can anyone help. Im ready to start playing but it doesnt seem ready to play. Very frustrating after this long wait. Please help. If someone has better files please email them to me at hoosiergator22@yahoo.com

Thanks for your reply. So if I update all rosters/contracts I can exit the game and save my fresh start (I copy that save game to another folder also so when I start a new game I can start with that one again since no days have passed). Than I update my game and when I use that prepared save file all bug fixes work? That would be very cool, because everywhere I read people that they have to start all over again after a patch. Or is that only for online leagues?

Car-Go looks perfectly fine to me. His neutraliezed projections in OOTP are .304/.368/.529 with 25 HR and 37 2B. His preseason projections in real life were about .306/.352/.538 with about 28 HR and 33 2B. You have to remember that this is Coors, which is slightly above average for HR and 2B.

No way he looks normal. Read his scouting and his rankings are bad. Last year I understand but it needs to be changed. Also all th Prospects I've listed on other post needs to be changed to make this authentic. The rankings last year seemed better for most players and prospects than this year. Im talking top 100 prospects too.

I'm not agreeing or disagreeing with you but why should they be changed? What evidence do you have to support anything that you are saying. Show some numbers and then you might get somewhere.

It's quite obvious when you read their scouting reports and they say theyre not any good. If they're rated top 100 prospects Id say they're pretty good sir. As for Cargo the guy was in the running for MVP last year and his scouting report says cant hit and little power. As for stating alot of numbers I think listing the players should sufice. I paid for a well done game with correct ratings etc. I dont have time to redo everyones stats. I have other things in life besides playing a game. I love this game but my extra time is for playing not redoing a game I paid for to be crrect. Don't mean to be harsh but I keep listing players and nothing seems to be done. Hope Marcus will look into this. Thanks.

Where are you looking at the scouting reports and stats for these players? I looked at Carlos Gonzalez and his ratings are in line with his real life stats and projections...?

I would give the rosters a chance, they are pretty solid. I've simmed a series of seasons and the stats seem to work out pretty well. I don't understand what your expectations are and how these are failing to live up to those expectations?

Hoosier,

Lonnie Goldberg's (Royals scout) scouting report for Carlos Gonzalez states that he is "An offensive force that teams must pitch around or game-plan against." It goes on to give him an expected line of .290/.360/.510.

His power grades out as above average.

You either have a really poor scout or you are looking at the wrong thing.

I have OSA scout which states

Contact Batting average will remain low due to inability to hit breaking pitches.

Power Will hit the occasional HR

Am I missing something. Are there other scouts I can choose and how? Also how can I change ratings?

You can fire your scout and hire another.

You can turn scouting off and see the real ratings.

You can go into commissioner mode and look at and edit his true ratings in the editor page on his profile.

Think of OSA as Baseball America in real life. It is a 3rd party source for scouting information that is imperfect and should always be taken with a grain of salt. What really matters is the player's underlying ratings that you can see only in Commissioner Mode. Those are what really matter.

You came out a little aggressive for someone who seems new to the game. Give it a chance, once you understand the game's workings better you will understand the initial response that your comments received.

Thanks for the help. Now I understand the concept better I can see how ratings work. What determines the scouting review you get on the players card with ratings and contract. Is that determined by the ratings or what

It's determined by your scout's interpretation of the ratings. For the purposes of trying to figure out if a player has been rated correctly in the roster set, you need to either open up the player editor page in Commissioner mode or turn Scouting off so that you can see that player's true ratings.
