Hall of Fame Bug?

I did a test run of a historical league from 1871 to 1959 and believe I found a bug in the Hall of Fame inductions. I had at least two players that where not inducted that should have been. One was Rogers Hornsby who had 4098 hits and a couple of other automatic qualifing stats (he actually hit .482 in 1922 lol) and the other was Hal Trosky who had a 902.0 career VORP. Now I think I have found the problem as both players have the following 3 enters at the end of their history pages:

Injured (), career-ending injury!
Became a free agent
Retired from professional baseball

I believe the problem is the Injured() as all other injuries I have found a something in the ().

I did a quick scan of the other automatic qualifiers and found two other players with at least 5 years since they played that did not get put in the HOF and both had the same "injury(), career-ending injury!" in their histories.
