Crash During Simulation

I am running OOTP4 on an Atlhon 600 with 512 MB RAM, and no other programs.....

All of a sudden, OOTP4 stops responding when I try to sim. I can sim one game at a time, but day, week, and month doesnt work.

All the other teams are on compuer control, and I have trimmed my minor leagues in order to give the AI a little break, but it still stops responding.

Also, there are no batting stats listed in the League Standings page - only pitching - even though I'm at least 10 games into the season?

And......My pitchers only reflect 3 losses, even though I've lost 8 games.....

Have you checked to see if you have an pitcher who is injured that is supposed to start a game?

Sounds like something got corrupted due to a crash or something. I'd suggest resetting the league and rerunning the schedule generator, run auto-manager and try the season again.

No injuries.......I agree that something must have been corrupted. How do I reset the league?

League options page, should be a button on the lower right side. This means you lose your stats for this season, but if it is a career league I have been able to save the career many times by doing this. Resetting during a season seems to have no ill effects either - the FA draft and ammy draft are still saved, it's just like going back to opening day. Good luck!

OK, I reset the league and it was ok for a few games, and then crashed during simulation again. Argghh!

What kind of league is it? How far along are you? I ask because I'm using an Athlon 1.2 w/ 512 meg and have been running OOTP4 everyday for 6 months and the only problem that I've had that sounds similar was an injured pitcher was scheduled to start a game for me. The game just froze at that point, once I realized the problem I replaced him and no more problems. I've run imported v3 leagues, fictional leagues and historical leagues all w/o issue.

ITs a standard 30 team league - I havent changed any of the default settings. I've had no trouble simming 2 past seasons....

Could just be a corrupted file is about all that I can imagine. Have you run your HD utilities recently? Scan disk and Defrag?

My machine is tip top......I'm a little concerned that a program Ive only had for 2 days is corrupting files, however.

It is not necessarily the game that is doing it, I can't even remember the last time I have had a corrupted game file but I know that for whatever reason it does happen from time to time.

I would not think that would be needed, but to be on the safe side I would backup my leagues between seasons that way if you ever have a problem you don't have to go back to the beginning.
