player names???

I feel like a racist complaining about this but why aren't there any white people names like smith, jones, ect... in the newly generated players? is this a glitch in the game or something......

Any information on how to fix this would be greatly appreciated. I am not that savy on how to mod this game and this is the first time i ever needed to since last years game had a fair mix of white names, black names, Asian names, ect..... i just don't like looking at my teams roster and seeing all the same race of names

Maybe set your foreign players percentage down lower?

You mean white people like Andruw Jones, Ozzie and Lonnie Smith?

In the database folder there are are several files you can play around with, one of which is the nations file. If you open up nations, you can adjust the percentage of various ethnicities in each country.

Here is the path for the PC version:

Out of the Park Developments > OOTP Baseball 12 > database > ethnicities.txt

When you make edits to each ethnic category, make sure the total is 1000.

I found if you really want to mimic real life MLB stuff, you need to set the forgeiner percentage to zero, and have any forgein players enter the league via their own league free agency. That way you don't have Japanese or Latin immigrants in the draft.

I don't think there's a nations file in OOTP12.

In referring to modern, are they compatible with the 40's and 50's, or more like the 1990-on?

More like 2000 and on.....

I'm working on a historical set, but it is not done yet.
