2 questions
1. What happened to mutual option? Any chance it can make a comeback in the game?
2. I can't delete other human managers. I made another human manager and selected him to play as him. Then I go to delete the old one and it won't let me. Plus I can't delete the new one I just created. |

1) No, that did not make much sense in OOTP.
2) You can only delet human managers when it's not the one you currently 'control'. |

2. I took control of another human manage but still couldn't delete the other one. Maybe a bug not sure. |

Disappointed about the loss of the mutual option. I used them all the time. It gave both sides a little protection - if the player goes to the dogs, I don't have to pay him the extra year. If he excels, then he can opt out and try to get better money on the FA market.
I must be missing something... why does this not make sense in OOTP or in real life? Is there a way to mimic this dual protection in OOTP12? |

Actually... I think I may have figured out how to mimic the mutual option. Now that OOTP offers buyouts, I can do a player option with a buyout. So even though I can't get out of paying the guy completely like a could with the mutual option, at least I can still get out of paying him full value.
I still would lobby to bring the mutual option back though, especially, as the OP said, since there are still real life ML contracts with mutual options. |

What wouldn't you just go after team options? As the GM, I want team options. I am thrilled that I can now have TWO team options in a contract! Team options is baseball contract bliss.
Now I do remember back a few versions ago there was a screen the came up that asked me if I wanted to exercise the option or decline it. Now it seems like if I don't release him, the option is picked up automatically. I miss the old screen. Wouldn't mind seeing that again.

Yes the team option is great for me... assuming the player goes for it. I always felt like the mutual option was a compromise.
That's odd about not being given a chance to decline the team option on the first day of the offseason. Seems like it's very easy to forget... I like as many reminders as possible! |

Yes me too! Plus I like being able to decline the option and then be able to talk to him before he files for FA. Now, I have to release him, and I assume that will make him angry, at least angrier than he should if I just declined his option but still wanted to sign him to a new multi year deal.

I haven't gotten to a point in my test league where a player with an option year on a contract came up. If there truly is no reminder or message at the beginning of the offseason that the option is about to vest, it'd be nice if that worked its way back in via patch.

I am away from my big machine at the moment, so how does it work then, a message pops up saying so and so's option is up and you react to it? Or someway different elsewise?

Yeah I just confirmed it and you do still get a message/e-mail - that's enough of a reminder for me. A pop-up would be nice too, but that's good enough.
