How to fix the all Hispanic name problem in the MLB quickstart draft before it happens

"This is a bug in the MLB 2011 Quickstart. You can fix it, by going into Commissioner mode and "Exploring the World" in the drop down manager menu. Select the USA and click on the tab for Nation Editor. Change the default language from Hispanic to Modern USA."

I thought it could use its own thread so anyone with the problem could find the fix easily.

This messed up a whole day of setup.. Set my draft report early and this happen before reading this

There was only one language that showed and it was hispanic and had 27 for name origin. I changed it to english but do I change the name origin to 100 from 27?

This bug showed up in a 12 team fictional league I set up. I did not use MLB quick start. Granted, I'm a newbie, but something was definitely out of whack.

I was under the impression this was a MLB Quickstart bug. Does it happen in other cases as well?

It happened in the ABA quickstart as well.

And, to echo a previous question- the 27 next to the language- is that percent? If I wanted to have both Modern American and Hispanic names, with American at 75%, I would put 75 and 25 next to the languages, respectively, correct? It seems obvious, I just want to make sure

Correct, they are percents. Markus said something like this earlier today in a post about this issue, I just don't feel like digging it up

Thank you - I don't mind the roster stuff, but this would get weird after a while.

Well, at least it is now easy to change the language. Will make setting up a league that transitions from the historical and segregated MLB to the modern world much much easier.
