i cant get the program to start anymore. "OOTP.exe has generated errors and will need to be restarted etc..." it just wont start; i coldbooted the system and shut down almost everything in the taskbar with the same results.
i run windows 2000, athlon 1.2gHz, about 30GB of space free, 256MB of ram. i did have problems with the program taking up almost all the processing power before. any help is appreciated (havent tried reinstalling it yet) v'

Can you tell me the last thing you did with the game? Did you happen to delete a league? As much detail as you can give will enable me to help you much quicker.

i was in the process of editing a historical league. i created a 1979 league using the lahman database and was transferring players from their teams to the free agent pool so that i could delete coffee cup players.
i saved every time i finished removing players for a team. the last time i used the game, i just did that; i closed out a transaction screen for some team, saved and exited. however: when the game was closing it simply froze my entire system (ctrl-alt-del) included. i had to use the reset button to restart the cpu. im just hoping the thing is not just corrupted... v'

It sounds like the file never finished saving and as a result the game is having problems loading the league file.
At least that is my guess... if this is the case well then the league is hosed... sorry. |

if this is the case, then i dont need to reinstall the game, i just need to manually delete the league files?
are they confined to one directory? also, any ideas about the processor heavy load the game put on my system (win2000)? that was the strange part, considering i have quite a bit of cpu resources available (e.g., i can run photoshop, explorer, word at the same time with no latency). ive tried shutting down as much as possible when i run ootp4 and it does work, but i really cant have anything else open at the same time. v'

<strong>It sounds like the file never finished saving and as a result the game is having problems loading the league file.

Fortunately, i only put in a few hrs of work on the league so starting over is no biggie. ill just have to keep a backup handy so i dont waste weeks of effort. thanks for the help. v'
