Online Files
I figure other commissioners are good ones to ask this of...
Do online GMs have to get the league updates after every simulation? In other words, they can't skip an update and expect to catch up on the next one? I assume they cannot do this since each update is only a "patch" from the previous version of the league and doesn't provide a method to compare multiple versions from previous simulations. Correct? If a GM does fail to update his/her copy of the league before the next simulation, does that throw their copy completely out of sync? Is the only way to get them back in line with the rest of the league to have them delete their copy of the *.lg folder and replace it with a copy of the full *.lg folder from the Commish or another GM? Likewise with individual team updates, if the GM makes a change to his/her team after they have uploaded their team file are they now out of sync with the league? Is it possible to remedy this situation by having the Commish download the team file that was uploaded and then have the GM upload again? Would that catch the Commish and GM up with one another? Or would that not work because the GM is trying to upload a team file with the same date as the one already on the server? I hope all of that made sense but let me know if I need to rephrase my questions. |

Splendidly clear, thanks Bluenoser.
The GMs don't really want to miss an update but since we sim every week day (6-game sims, 5 x week), sometimes it just can't be helped due to work, family, etc. I don't really want to hold the whole season up for everyone because of one GM but then I don't want to take the chance of fubar'ing their league file either. Sounds like my assumptions were incorrect and we're safe to keep going. Thanks again
