Playing an Old Era with current Era stats
I am fairly certain this is easy to do, but is it possible to set up a Historical league starting in 1900 and have the game treat it as if its the modern Era? Meaning 5 man rotations and stats that resemble 2010 totals?
I have always been intrigued with starting a Historical league but I've found myself bored with the 2-1 dead ball era games and stats. I want to see the league totals resemble what they are in current times instead, and I want 5 man rotations and pinch hitters and relief pitchers used often like they are now. I think there's something under the Global set-up where you can just change the year that the game bases the overall stats to mirror, is that correct? Would this do it? Would I have to change this (reset it to 2010) every year (because I believe now as you go through your history it adjusts the league totals for the year your in, but it won't be able to do this if I set the league up to mirror 2010 stats). Thanks! |

It works well. I play most of my leagues like this, plus some increased revenue sharing. |

If you want similar scoring and such to modern baseball, you can also edit the era_stats file in the database folder. Open it as a comma-delimited file in Excel. Copy everything in the 2009 line to all years. Save (make sure you back up first!)
Make sure you have automatically adjust league totals set to on and run a test league. Your stats will be way off, but at the end of the season it will calculate to make them more accurate. Copy down all the new settings. Start again, but plug these adjustments in. Now the game will automatically adjust at the end of each season to get the stats more in line with modern baseball.
