Bryce Harper
I just test played 5 save games, and bryce harper's rating drops dramatically at age 28-30 each time, it happened thrice beforehand in a real playthrough, which prompted me to do the tests. He goes from 80 to 60 then 21 in two of the three playthroughs and his batting averages drops to 220-100 for the rest of his career after age 28. Is this supposed to happen? His prime seems to end at age 28...

I'm noticing that a lot of hitters drop off at 28-31. Have you seen that in general? I haven't gone through many seasons yet (only 5+ in 2 different games). Pitchers, by contrast, seem to keep it together until 34-38ish.

Given Harper's attitude problems it's possible they gave him a low workrate in the game and given with how young he usually comes up could be the reason.
It's ridiculous, of course, since despite his on-field attitude issues, he's considered a hard worker. (Then again, outside of maybe a handful of players in MLB, they all work their ass off.) |

Jay Bruce-age 39 Elvis Andrus-age 41 Jason Heyward-age 43 Mike Trout- age 41 maybe it's just this particular game, because by 2037, there are scores of players playing above age 40... but Bryce Harper wasn't fit to play in the majors by the age of 29, after winning 2 consecutive triple crowns and leading the league thrice in homeruns, he didn't have a single homrun in 200 at bats, after which i sent him to the minors. Now, this was the most dramatic dropoff i've had, and in some games he is able to play until he is 32, but even so, that's a remarkably short peak |

I see they retired late, but how did their abilities hold up? I've had multiple players have 2 (out of 20) point drop-offs in primary stats in the 27-31 range (Brett Gardener losing Contact and Avoid K at 27 immediately after signing him to a 5 year contract was a huge blow).
Pitchers by contrast, I don't recall one losing an ability point before 37. |

Bruce had over 500 hrs I used Pujols in the 2004 season, and he ended up losing all his stats by 28, I think the game engine has something against power hitters |

I don't think it's power-hitters. I sign all contact/avoid Ks players and plenty of them have lost stats before 30

Yes, 4 different players over 2 games and 6ish years.
Not Harper tho and haven't seen repeat players because I've only played on MLB roster game. |
