megamanmatt is ALWAYS saying that someone is complaining. He complains of the complaining, and cheers none of the cheering.

Five thousand thanks for a non-modder? I never thought I'd see the day. Thank you for your support.

[QUOTE=ukhotstove;3132566]So you can only speak if your buying the product,

That has been a problem around here for a long time. If you're not A) one of the in crowdd who post on here at least ten times a day your opinion doesn't matter B) If you question management you get ripped apart. C) AS is proven once again, the pc game and its customers are second rate.. Its about Iootp now.. I wouldn't be surpised if this is the last version of OOTP, because the I phone app is all management cares about.

Just for Carplos -- I'm not a programmer, but I'd think it would be EASY to shut this thread down.

Now, I think it's cool that things are announced on Facebook. Many vendors, companies, etc., use social media for "exclusive" news or other promotions. There's nothing wrong with it.

Hey All:

I handle Facebook and Twitter for OOTP, so the lack of cross-posting between there and here is my fault. I apologize for that.

I didn't announce here that the OOTP 12 Beta had started because I honestly thought that had already been announced on the message boards. I'm not on here a lot. Not because I don't want to be, but because I don't have the time to read everything; OOTP is not the only company I work for. Yes, I should at least read the OOTP 12 boards, and this thread has prompted me to start doing that.

No disrespect was meant toward anyone on this forum. I realize many of you have been playing OOTP for years, and you're the ones who have kept the company going. I love the fact that OOTP has many loyal fans; it reminds me of Apple, who I've also worked for. (And, yes, I realize Apple is a zillion times larger than OOTP and thus has many more loyal fans; however, the passion I see from both fan bases is very similar.)

And if you have a complaint about how I'm handling something, or how OOTP in general is handling something, please feel free to drop me a line here or email me: brad.cook@ootpdevelopments.com. I'm happy to hear what you have to say, even if it's negative. We can't please everyone, but we'll do our best.

I will say this, though: iOOTP is certainly not going to replace OOTP. I know from the discussions we've had internally that Markus, Andreas, Aurelio, and co. are just as passionate about the PC/Mac/Linux game as ever. However, since we are a zillion times smaller than a company like Apple, we can't spend the money to gear up two projects simultaneously and get them done within the timeframe most of our customers want to see. We're just as bummed as you are that OOTP 12 is shipping on June 20th, rather than on Opening Day, but there were bumps in the road with iOOTP's development, and that forced Markus to take time away from OOTP 12.

In the future, I'll be more diligent about making sure that important OOTP 12 news gets posted here. If you want to join us on Facebook and Twitter, that would be great, but it certainly shouldn't be required to get basic information, like the announcement of the OOTP 12 Beta. I try to mix up news about our games with stuff about baseball in general, along with links to reviews and so forth.

Thanks.

I know enough of it to know that I hate web development Annoyingly though, nearly all the programming jobs anywhere near me are web development.

It had been announced, I believe.

I'm sure it will please people if you're around more since you handle stuff like that, but one thing you'll get used to is posts like this. Have fun.

I did notice on Facebook a couple days ago, that you mentioned that 1.1 would be out shortly for iOOTP. That is good news so thanks for that.

I would really appreciate it if any and all OOTP announcements - not iOOTP, just OOTP - were made here on the official forum first.

Great post, Brad, thanks. FWIW, I am one of the remaining 2,996 people on the planet (as of this split second) who no longer Facebooks and has never Twittered, so I appreciate your efforts here.
