When a pitcher gets tired?
I am new to this game. Other games show a pitch count. How can I tell when my starting pitcher is getting tired and needs to be replaced?? thanks for any help.

1. through your roster screen, a battery appears beside their name showing how much juice they have left (now if you had Barry Bonds on your team, it would be fully juiced at all times); 2. through the BNN homepage for your team, it will list their status (ie, Rested, Exhausted, etc.) 3. your pitcher is getting bombed. i don't play out the game, so i'm not sure if they give a pitch count as the game progresses. they do give a pitch count after the game is over in the box score. through the "PLayer Strategy" option in your team's "Roster" screen, you can set the pitch count for your pitchers to have the mgr make that long, uncomfortable walk to the mound. hope this helps. -walt statesleague.com |

1. Select the Batter/Pitcher view. Or... 2. Select the Box Scores view. |

you can ask the pitcher if he's tired or not by using a mound visit

how does that quote go...
Jim Kern ( I think) was approached on the mound by the manager who was going to take him out. "But I'm not tired" said Kern. "No," replied the manager, "but the outfielders sure are." |

Also, if they have high pitch count and say they're OK, but give up a couple of quick hits/walks to start an inning, they've probably run out of gas regardless of what they're telling you. You can only Vist Mound once per inning per pitcher. |

Started a new Game after Patch with Atlanta.
In the first Game the Nationals change the Pitcher in the 3rd inning, stands 0-0. Iam looking to my pitcher, and Hanson is Exhaused after 47 Pitches. Whats up???? There was a Rain-Delay of 70 Minutes, does it have something to do with? Last edited by Mansoon; 05-17-2011 at 07:54 PM. |

The muscles in a pitcher's arm start tensing up if they sit inactive for too long. If there's a long delay (45 minutes or more) chances are they won't be able to resume the game.
You can see this in real baseball games some times when one team is at bat for a long time, then when their pitcher finally goes back on the field he's a little wild. |

That is my next favorite quote in sports, second only to Jim McKay's answer when asked what he thought of his team's execution (TB Bucs back in the horrendous days), "I'm in favor of it."
