Some things I've Noticed Through 45 Games
Injuries and suspensions only happen during simmed games and not actual played ones....is this by design?
There is an obscene amount of homeruns. Can this be tuned? Other then that.... loving the game. |

I've seen a lot of HRs, but I think 2 factors have weighed on this heavily: 1) Playing in Citizen's Bank Park 2) 15+ MPH winds blowing out to right or left in every game so far. |

So far i have played every games as the Giants.Currenly still in the first month. Pablo Sandoval out 4 months, Buster was out for a week, Zito is also out for 3 weeks. Mota was out for 2 weeks.
And i dont see a lot of home run maybe its just cause im using the Giants. i am sure its pretty random. |

I think it may be the wind. You may be on to something there.

Injuries definitely happen during games played out.
Watched the Yankees lose Rafael Soriano for a year and AJ Burnett for 6 months in one series. I lost Austin Jackson for 6 weeks a couple games later. |

I am hitting a ton of HR, of course, I am the Jays. I have only played 4 games thus far, but we are 3-1. The scores of our games thus far have been a 5-4 loss on opening day, a 12-2 win, a 14-2 win and a 13-10 win.
Juan freakin' Rivera is batting .538 with 6HR and 14RBI. That is a hot start! Aaron Hill is hitting .556. As a team we have hit 17HR after 4 games!!!! Rivera 6 Hill 3 Lind 2 Snider 2 Bautista 1 Escobar 1 Arencibia 1 Michael Young 1 (he sat out opening day for the Rangers and was promptly offered to me, with a minor league OF for Jayson Nix...uh yeah, done deal) This is now the game I play while pooping which is really the only reason to have a smart phone, entertainment while pooping.

![]() But my Jays are sucking it hard through the first 6 games Maybe because rivera got hurt in the middle of the first game and I didnt get M. Young! through 6 games I'm 1-5. (should be 2-4 but we blew a 7-0 8th inning lead against the twins opening day and lost 10-8 in 10 innings) team bat stats: 4 hr, 16 runs, only 14 BB and 38 k's. .223 BA, .281 OBP. and thats with Snider hitting .368, Hill .316, and Lind .316! Snider has also swiped 2 bags!?!?! My pitching has only allowed 5 hr's but 36 runs, mostly due to 42 walks! Opponents are only batting .252. But my bullpen is killing me in close games. When batting do you guys use the "take pitch" option very often? not sure why my walks are so out of balance. Last edited by 40-40 Club; 05-06-2011 at 04:44 PM. |

Home run !!!
I have simmed about 40 games so far, for 2 different major league teams. I have also simmed 25 games for a fictional league team.
I have seen alot of home runs, and big flys at that!! 475ft, 508ft, 401ft... but very little in the 350- 390 range. I am sure that is a programming thing, hr= fence length + x feet kinda thing. I only simmed the games. I did not play/manage any of them. I have also had an injury first. A. Soriano for the Cubs on 15 day DL with soreness in his arm. He got reinjured while on the DL !! Yep he had appendicitis !! His time left to heal went from 10 days to 25 days. I knew he was fragile, but wow !!!

Through 5 games (all at CBP, all with 15+ MPH wind blowing out...):
PHI: 10HR 28R 20BB 30K .275/.351/.515/.866 Opponents: 16HR 33R 14BB 36K .297 oppavg 5.60ERA My team highlight so far has been, without a doubt, Jack Hannahan! I traded for Jack before opening day, to provide a solid defensive cornerstone over at third (84 range, 93 arm, 65 error, 88 3rd Base Rating). Despite his meager offensive ratings (44 contact, 42 power, 59 eye, 28 avoid Ks), Jack is 5-for-18 with 3 home runs (!), 5RBI and a Walk. He actually hit one off the foul pole on opening day, which was quite exciting to see!

Just want to say that I've been playing out all my games and I've had injuries during the game on my team. I've had a player almost thrown out. I've had several homeruns but I wouldn't say it was too many. Most though were not big flys like others have seen. Also Regarding homeruns I've had 2-3 Grandslams which shocked me.
Either way it's been great so far and I have no complaints about amount of homeruns or injuries. |

Injuries in iOOTP are even less than in real life, we toned them down since we get a lot of complaints each year despite the numbers being totally realistic. It's a matter of perception and small sample size when you feel injuries are too high.
Same for the stats, we did lots of test simulating and the stats are extremely realistic over the course of a season. It's all a matter of sample size

Played a game. Cubs at Brewers. A fight broke out and said Wolf threw an upper cut. After the game it said the game was played at wriggly and no punches were thrown.
