Crawford will come around. It is stupid to think he will keep popping up everything for the rest of the season.
But Matsuzaka, I do not know...
I am a huge Red Sox fan, and I am Japanese, but I will not pick him for my fantasy team if I had one.

After their truly horrible start, they are only 4.5 games out of 1st and 4.5 out of the Wild Card. Maybe they're finally waking up.

I play in 17-team deep league, so not a lot of other options other than Dice K. It's a good thing I also have Verlander and CJ Wilson.

It's done. Crawford is off of my team, unless the trade gets vetoed.

I traded away Crawford and Joe Nathan for Jason Bay, Domonic Brown and Jose Valverde.

I would understand a little bit if Crawford had a history of slow starts or major slumps. But he hasn't. This guy is/was a consistent player, a 5-tool guy not prone to slumps like 1-dimensionial power hitters.

And yet here is the current stat line for my fantasy first round pick - .149 Avg, .186 OBP, .179 SLG, .365 OPS. This would still actually be bearable if he was contributing to the team in some other ways offensively. But he has 3 RBI's, 3 runs, 2 walks, and 11 strikeouts on the season! The only thing close to a silver lining is the 2 SB's.

Something is seriously wrong with Crawford and at this point I could not wait for him to come around. I'm not sure what Jason Bay will do this year, but I bet he won't be batting seventh in the order.

This is the first time in a long time I did not close my eyes every time he threw ball after 3-2 counts!
followed up in his next start with
8.0IP, 1H, 3B, 9K, 115P

Only the third Red Sox pitcher to throw two consecutive games with more than 7 innings and one-hitting both...

And the last Red Sox pitcher to do it is, who else, Pedro Martinez.
Finally, Daisuke has one thing that is really comparable to Pedro.
(Remember when everyone was comparing Daisuke with Pedro, when The Red Sox signed him? :P)

I know he has the ability to do something like this, and that is why he makes me really angry when he starts nibbling, trying to throw every pitch in the corners unsuccessfully.

The good news is the Al East is somehow packed within like 3~4 games after all this, so our disappointing start of this season does not really matter. I think the Rays and the Jays have pretty good teams this year, so it will be a very interesting pennant race all the way til October

Although I hate both AL East powerhouses, I am happy to see you guys beginning to get back in the thick of things. As I am happy that the White Sox have won each of their last 3 series.

Well after a 0-6 start we've now got the third best record in the AL!

And without even taking the field we extend our lead over the Yankees and Rays...

I was at yesterday's game. 3 random points:

1) The Sox won, which is always good by me.

2) I got a pretty good sunburn.

3) The Red Sox are now 22-1 when my wife is in attendance! Hey Theo, keep us in mind for some VIP treatment for any possible post-season events.

Lester was only going for the inside corner. What made it look bad was Teixeira's reaction, which you cannot blame him for since the ball apparently struck him right on the bone.

Quote:
NEW YORK -- After taking a 90-mph fastball off his right knee, Mark Teixeira was forced to leave the New York Yankees' game with the Boston Red Sox on Tuesday.

A Yankees spokesman said that X-rays on Teixeira were negative. Teixeira has a right knee contusion and will be further evaluated on Wednesday.

In the bottom of the first inning, Teixeira writhed in pain on the ground after Boston's Jon Lester nailed him on his back knee in his right-handed stance.

After manager Joe Girardi and Alex Rodriguez, who was on-deck, knelt with Teixeira, trainers attended to him. He was taken off the field with his arms around the shoulders of Girardi and bench coach Tony Pena.

Teixeira entered the game hitting .258 with 18 homers and 41 RBIs. Teixeira has been hot of late as half of his homers have come in the previous 16 games.

Jorge Posada came in to pinch run for Teixeira. Posada remained in as the Yankees' first baseman.

Three batters later, Lester hit Russell Martin with a pitch above the right knee. Martin walked to first base and did not appear to be hurt.
I bet Teixeira misses the rest of this series, at least.

I'm just glad we've got the Big Papi back that we all loved...

Still can't shake off anybody in the AL East - even the O's are only 5.5 back

I hated that sound. It was horrible.

According to mlb.com

Boston has hit 25 home runs in its last 13 games away from home, an average of 1.15 homers per road game in that span.

I'm glad mlb don't put a lot of their marketing behind statistics!! 25 HR in 13 away games = almost 2 homers per road game, not 1.15!
