Cato History 5.3 error
I had a few troubles with importing stats, but narrowed it down and managed to fix it. However, when I output the html, it gets to the first Team Summary and then gives this error message:
Error -214721833: Overflow has occured. Anyone have any ideas what this might be?

I deleted all the html and .csv export files, recreated them, and then imported the data again and get the exact same error.

No clue Hollis; my team summaries are being created properly as I type this. However I did have a bit of trouble since several teams changed divisions in 2005 and therefore have different numbers. Does Cato handle this properly?

Yeah, I have no idea what the problem is myself. Maybe I used the exporter to export too much or something? I really have no idea.

I wish I could help you, but this is my first time with this. My problem now is that the postseason stuff is all wrong. It thinks Cleveland beat Colorado in the World Series 4 games to 2 in each of the 5 seasons. Do you have any clue what would be causing that?

Nope. First time I have ever used it myself and I get this. When you used the exporter, did you export all three?

What do you mean by all three? I exported each season using the main exporter.bat file, and then I exported the career stats from the first season, and the park.bat file to export park changes after every year.

All three of those
exporter, career stats, and park. That is exactly what I did. I thought maybe I wasn't supposed to or something but it looks like that wasn't the problem. Oh well.

Yeah, I'm pretty sure that's not the problem, although I am admittedly not a CSV export expert. (
)What I have discovered though, is that for each year, the postseason.csv files are EXACTLY the same... so that's why there's a problem. The question is, why the heck did that happen? Last edited by Dwolfson20; 05-25-2003 at 10:10 PM. |

holyroller,
Sounds like it's trying to divide by zero, maybe there was some problem with the team stats. Send me the data files (all the CSVs and the 3 HTMLs) and I'll take a look. Dwolfson20, Your postseason problem sounds like it is reading the same HTML files every year. Playoff data comes from the league.html file. Are you outputting that every year from within OOTP?

Yes... I have confirmed that the postseason CSV files are the same for every year, but I don't know why that is, because I have a league.html file for every season that shows the correct playoff data. And it's doing all of the other CSV files correctly, so I have no idea why the postseason files are not working.

OK, I made a mistake and was having it read the same HTML files every year, like you suggested. But that still doesn't explain why it's reading the wrong year, which is quite a bit more severe than the postseason problem. I did it again a couple times with the correct HTML files and that did not help.

I've run Cato 5.3 on the 1946 and 1948 end of season league files of the PWBL, the league holyroller commishes, and it has hung at the exact same point, Team Summary, with the same error message each time.
Cato, would this be related to the fact that both league files were converted from OOTP4 to OOTP5 to be run on 5.3?

Is it the same teams Team Summary each time? If so you may want to go through the database and input files to look for things that just look odd, and try to attack the problem in that fashion.
Digging through the database is how I was able to get past several errors in a league that I imported that did some funky stuff when it expanded. |
