After seeing Cleveland beat up on the Mariners for double digit runs in one inning, I realized you Bosox fans shouldn't feel so bad about that sweep. They're on fire.

Pesky Sox! (No pun intended.) Will you stay down in one game at least?!?
![]() Edited 1 hours, 40 minutes later: OK, thanks. Pounded into submission by Yankee homers. Two by Russell Martin, who may have been a good bargain for us. Last edited by 1998 Yankees; 04-09-2011 at 04:44 PM. |

You know, in order to win the 100 games everyone says you will, you need to win at least 4 or 5 in April, I'd reckon.

Basically I think that says the Red Sox are playing like the Mariners right now. |

I just can't take Matsuzaka anymore.
It is a pain watching him pitch to say the least... The game is over after only 30 minutes, and I feel so sorry for the people who bought expensive tickets to be at the ballpark, only to experience...., this. I also feel sorry for Wakefield, having to come out every 5 days to pitch in a game like this. I know he gets paid doing it, but I do not think he deserves this, not after playing for this team for like 16 years...

I can't agree with you more.
I know he is an inconsistent player, but it's painful to watch. Last edited by jdyi87; 04-11-2011 at 09:19 PM. Reason: a typing error |

![]() Well, It's not just Matsuzaka, but almost everyone except for few who is looking like he is still playing the ST games. (Pedroia is the only name that came to my mind, sadly ) Crawford looks like he is trying too hard, and Salty looks like a Jack Clark without the power, well, the switch hitting Jack Clark with the power, and Youk does not look like what he was before he got injured last year. It is too early for the panic button, and I am not yet in the mood, but I think there already must be a lot of pressure on Francona and Curt Young after only 10 games.

We've been in this situation with some of our own free agent acquisitions, as you know. As a matter of fact, we would be in this particular situation had we won the bidding for Dice-K back then!

They have ways around this nowadays. I can still watch my team lose every home game no matter what the weather.

7.0IP, 1H, 1B, 3K, 89P, Matsuzaka??? ![]() This is the first time in a long time I did not close my eyes every time he threw ball after 3-2 counts!

Crazy stuff from Dice-K today. I thought for sure he was good for at least 6 runs, but he goes out there and pitches a gem. Here's hoping that he can string a few starts like this together.

FYI the Red Sox (along with the Twins Joe Nathan and Joe Mauer) are almost singe-handedly cratering my fantasy team. I spent my first round pick on Crawford, who apparently couldn't hit glass if you put him in a liquor store.
I also had Dice K and dropped him after his atrocious start, then quick picked him up again today after his gem. If I start him again, remind to take some Tums. |
