Fictional Universe v1.0 (World Template)

Download Here

I've been working on this world template on and off pretty much since OOTP 11 came out. Naturally, I release it to the public shortly before OOTP 12 comes out, but hopefully it can be updated to 12 (and harness whatever improvements are made).

This is a real world universe. Here is a breakdown of leagues:

United Baseball Association (UBA): Two sub-leagues with two divisions each with five teams per division. This is a coastal league with an Eastern League and a Western League. Each team has three minor league affiliates that are almost always located in cities near the parent club. No salary cap, no revenue sharing, this is a capitalist league at it's best. Four years of service time are required for free agency and arbitration begins after one year of service time.

Continental Baseball League (CBL): This league has two divisions with seven teams each. Teams are located in the central regions of the United States. Salary Cap is $100 milllion. Media contracts are equal and 50% of all income is shared. Two minor league affiliates for each team which are all geographically linked with the parent club.

Asian Professional Baseball League (APBL): 16 team league with teams in Japan, Korea, China and Taiwan. Salary cap is $50,000,000 so some decent players do make it to this league.

Canadian Baseball League (CBL): 12 team league based out of Canada. Talent level is approximately Single-A level.

Latin American Baseball Association (LABA): 16 team league with teams in Mexico, Cuba, Dominican Republic, Puerto Rico, Panama, Venezuela, and Colombia. Double-Aish talent level.

Australian Baseball League (ABL): 6 team league based out of Australia. Lower talent level league.

European Baseball League (EBL): 8 team league in Europe. Pretty low talent level.

South African Baseball League (SABL): 8 team league in South Africa. Pretty low talent level.

Southern Baseball League (SBL): A league in the southern part of the United States with teams in cities not represented by the other larger American leagues. Decent talent level.

Heartland Baseball Federation (HBF): Low level league based out of North Dakota, Minnesota, Iowa, Wisconsin, and Illinois.

I'm not a logo guy so none of these teams have custom logos. If any enterprising logo maker wants to make logos for these teams, I'd be delighted to include them. I've tried to have the team mascots make somewhat sense.

Interaction between the leagues works fairly well. Only problem I see is that sometimes guys get stashed on the reserve league rosters of the non Major leagues for a few years. Also seems to be a lot of the sign and release thing going on with those leagues.

The two Major leagues seem to work pretty well. The biggest challenge would probably be a small market team in the UBA since the financials can be difficult in those cases. Being that this is a template, market sizes aren't set. But I had good luck setting the UBA cities to make general sense where New York has a distinct advantage over Albuquerque.

Like I said, I hope to update this to OOTP 12 when it comes out. I'll also probably continue to expand the scope and size of the universe.

If anybody has any ideas to improve it, feel free to offer or suggestions. Or feel free to modify it any way you like it and share it with whoever you want. I'm not anal like that. You don't even need to give me credit. Basically, anybody can do whatever they want with this and I won't care.

Have at it!
