Financials off
I set up a small league last night(1 Subleague, 1 division, 8 teams)and decided to give playing without financials a try. I'm using a 126 game schedule. I have trades set to very low. I'm hoping this small and simpler setup will allow me to better get to know the players in my fictional world. Also hoping to see some dynasties develop.
For those that play without financials(probably few and far between)do you have any tips. Will the AI do a good job of managing rosters without the player movement brought on by free agency? I set up 3 levels of minor leagues, AAA, AA and A. When an AI team releases a player, will another AI team ever pick the player up, or is a release pretty much the end of his career? |

I've never played with financials turned off completely. What I've settled on in my early years of baseball experiments is to set Eligible for Arbitration to a low number (1 year) and Eligible for Free Agency to a high number (13 or 15 years). This seems to be working pretty well. Rosters are mostly stable, though there are players who are released (i.e., club doesn't want to pay the arbitration salary). Those players are then indeed signed by other clubs.

Never even thought of doing that. Thanks.

I have another question. If I have financials turned off will the "league expansion" and "team relocation" features still work?
