Smile Another update

Hey guys,

here's another small update, basically to keep you in the loop Last week was a very busy one for our company, as iOOTP is nearing testing & release, so my focus was on that project for a few days. It's back to OOTP 12 now, and this week we're preparing to start beta testing it.

As far as the timetable for the release goes, the best bet is an early May release at the moment. Last year we were able to release it in April, and the two years prior to that the release was in June, so this year we're pretty much in the middle, which is pretty good considering we're releasing an additional product (iOOTP).

I'll have some screenshots and more info on OOTP 12 once beta has started Thanks for your patience and support!

Cheers,
Markus

Take your time in Beta, Markus. Sorry I could not be a part of that this year. Just too busy on the home front.

Appreciate the update Markus. Really looking forward to the new OOTP this year since I'm an avid historical player. OOTP will consume much more of my time with the new 'save game in progress' feature.

If you need another beta tester...this old man is available. : )

Beta Tester????

My semester is winding down. Does a join date of 08-22-2003 get me Beta Testing powers? :-)

If you are releasing two products...why not hire more people so you can put them out at the start of the season instead of 50 games into the MLB season?

I actually have to agree with dj morton on this one. I think it's great that the team is working on an additional platform, but their main focus should be on the tried and true OOTP and its fan base. I'm not one of those people who says that if the game isn't released by opening day it's not worth anything, but they should should shoot to have it released as early in the season as possible.

Beta test and release the new version of OOTP in a timely fashion, and THEN focus on the new product. Just my opinion...

For what it's worth...

Those of us that have been around long enough know that a quality product (actually the best d__n baseball game on the market) is worth waiting for whether it's out in April or June. Would we like to have it in April? Sure, but the "reality" is we'll wait till June if we have to.

Since I've got 9 years of OOTP enjoyment behind me, I know I'm going to love v12 just as much if not more than v11 - and thus I will use v11 everyday until I can get my hot little hands (ok, "cold old hands") on the new version. I also know I will buy iOOTP when it's released.

For those that are buying their first version, I can promise you that in 9 years (if we're lucky to be waiting for Version 20) you will see it from my angle

If these guys are chronically late every year..why not release a game every other season...post a "expansion" pack in the down years that includes rosters, and some small tweaks.
