I was 3 games into my fictional season (25th) in OOTP4 when the game froze while simulating a day. Abut 1/3 of the games were played. I logged out of the game and when I returned the game crashed when I tried to sim the rest of the days games. I noticed that no stats had been saved for players. All the rosters look like no games had been played yet that season, but the standings show teams have played games. So now, basically my career league is in a total standstill. Help!
This is the detail of the crash, if it helps: OOTP4 caused an invalid page fault in module OOTP4.EXE at 0187:0049eb16. Push "play" button...
How much free HD space do you have, what about RAM and any other programs open at the same time.

Forst, thanks for the response. I should have plenty of HD (at least 7GB)space and RAM (512) available. Wasn't running any other programs while playing OOTP4. I did try to press play, thinking maybe if I did that for each of the unplayed games remaining I might be able to make it out of the day. It worked provided I turned off "Out of Town Boxscores". I can even simulate and jump ahead to later inngs once I've started. I've managed to finish 2 or 3 games this way. However sometimes this doesn't work, and I get the same crash prompt, even after simming to like the 6th or 7th inng. Feels very hit or miss.

First, thanks for the quick reply. I should have plenty of HD Space (over 7GB Free)and RAM (512) so I don't think that's the problem. I did try to press PLAY, hoping to finish each of the remaining games that way, and thus get out of the day and on the with the rest. It worked, provided I turned off "Out of Town Scoreboard." I could even sim a game to a later inng once I started the game in "play" mode, sometimes even to the end. I managed to complete about 3 games this way. However, I still often got the same crash prompt when I tried to sim the rest of a game--even if I had already been able to sim ahead a few inngs in the game. I might have to "play" all of them. Hope not. Plus, who's to say my problem is resolved once I complete the entire day's games?

Hello,
I am having problems after simming a year of baseball. I have the Mets in the World Series against the Yanks. when trying to sim game 4 with the Mets leading the series 2 to 1, when I press the sim button, or press the sim season or playoffs, the computer locks up. I have to power cycle the computer. BUT, if I press play and start playing the game and then press SIM in the game, it will work. Now, I have started a new season, and have played about 2 months worth of games, now when pressing sim button, the computer locks up again. I can move the mouse, but the game and computer are useless. Unless it takes hours to start simming, there is a serious bug here. Pressing play works. Please help. Ron Wharton |
