What did you exactly? Applied ratings changes or just modified players regarding their affiliated team?

I took control of all 30 teams, then went to edit player and put them each on their new team. Then when I switched back to only control one team, the AI went into lunatic mode.
Some teams got it exactly right, like the Phillies kept their rotation of Halladay, Lee, Oswalt, and Hamels. But teams, like the Red Sox, just went off the deep end. |

Can someone tell me whats so difficult about updating a roster?
dont jump down my throat for that comment i mean it with all sincerity....to my knowledge all u do is what commish said earlier export the roster and add the stats, yeah doing the minor leaguers would be a headache...and yes if i thought it to be so easy i should probably try it myself to see how wrong i might be.....ok i'll shut up now and leave it to the Cubs fan....too bad Pudge doesnt play OOTP...his roster sets for high heat were the only reason i stayed with that game for so long. |

I don't know if I did something wrong, but I opened up pandoras box with glitches when I tried to update them myself. When I resumed control of my own team, I was unable to place anyone on the DL or take people off the 40 man roster.
I have no idea what cubbyfan does, or how he does it but I learned that it's tougher than it seems. Unless of course, I just suck at it. |

apparently you can't use acroynm's for cuss words...never knew that...the average person Joe Blow (that isn't a dirty word is it?) wouldn't know what they meant.

Putting out a roster set is not that long. Putting out a complete, exhaustive roster set with scouting data and all is tedious work.

You're right about the exhaustive nature of creating and rating the new players with real world scouting info. Since last real world MLB season (and my OOTP simulation of it) ended I've spent a ridiculous number of hours trying to get more advanced 2010 draftees into my league with semiaccurate ratings data before I proceeded into my 2011 MLB simulation. Anyway, I'll start a new thread in this OOTP Mods - Rosters, Photos, and Quick-Starts directory and post my screenshots of the 1st rounders that I created. |

Believe it or not, moving the free agents around to their new teams isn't as easy as it sounds either. You have to go through all levels of the minor leagues and not forget to remove players who are no longer there. It takes a good 10 hours or so to do all 30 teams.

So, this set never made it? I wonder if Cubby was secretly asked to cease and desist since a new roster set so close to the release of OOTP12 might discourage people from buying the newest edition? Just a thought.

It was never a problem in the past. And in any case, a polite "I can't do it anymore, sorry guys," from Cubby would have been appreciated and saved me from some unnecessary clicks.

Cubbyfan's disappearance has me baffled. I've been using his roster sets for a few years now, and this is by far the longest he's ever gone with no updates. Very strange.

It has been a long stretch, but doesn't he usually go a few weeks without a post every once in a while?

This is a depressing thread. Like others, it isn't the fact that this roster set isn't out yet that bothers me. I know the effort required to make them correctly is way beyond me.
What is sad is just how bad the communication about them has been. Anyway, hope Cubby is ok. |

Maybe he's just like the real Cubs....you know, disappears from the radar for years at a time....then has a brief flash of greatness only to let down all of his fans in the end.
