Saturday night results:
STORM 40 Titans 12 TIGERS 20 Warriors 12 Knights 34 COWBOYS 22 Following the scandal and disgrace of 2010 the Storm have made a great start to the new season and should be sitting in 2nd place on points difference behind the impressive Knights at the end of the round. Knights delievered another butt-kicking on the road, following on from their 42-8 week one win over Penrith. They were ahead 34-6 with ten to play but gave up three late tries. My Tigers were unconvincing, as they trailed 12-6 with twenty to play before coming home with a wet sail. |

Hmm. Not the best Sunday afternoon for Bobbuttons. Or Cooleyvol.
Bulldogs 28 RABBITOHS 19 Sea Eagles 27 ROOSTERS 16 Bulldogs led 12-6 at halftime, Rabbits came back with two quick tries early in the 2nd to lead 18-12. It was then tied at 18-18 before Rabbits took the lead with a field goal thirteen minutes from the end. But the Dogs finished strong, scoring a try with eight minutes to play and then another right on the siren to finish it off. Roosters were ill-disciplined, making fourteen handling errors to Manly's nine. Sea Eagles led 8-0 early and the Roosters never really looked like winning, despite only trailing 14-10 at halftime. Sea Eagles dominated the final half hour, scoring two tries and kicking a field goal right on full-time. One game left in the round, Dragons vs Sharks on Monday night. The Dragons should win it and join the Storm, Knights and Bulldogs as the only undefeated teams. |

Wow, was surprised with the Sea Eagles-Roosters result....but happy.
![]() Now, if we could add a quality halfback, we might be OK. Our rookie is pretty average. |

Fantastic, committed performance from the Sharks tonight as they held the defending champion Dragons scoreless for an hour and were leading 16-0 before holding on for a 16-10 win. Brilliant ball control in wet conditions plus some hard hitting defense won them the game.
So after two weeks there's three undefeated teams (Knights, Storm and Bulldogs), three winless teams (Rabbitohs, Titans and Warriors) with everyone else 1-1. |

I see the Rabbitohs are scoring some big time points in the first 2 matches. Too bad they are giving up the 2nd most so far, as well. Tighten up that defense and they could make a run.

My Tigers' win was a costly one, as two of our key players suffered injuries that will keep them on the sidelines for some time. Chris Lawrence has apparently dislocated his hip while Lote Tuqiri has a broken forearm. We're already missing a number of other players through injury so this will test our depth. Brisbane Broncos legend Darren Lockyer has announced that he'll be retiring at the end of this season. He's one of those players who has done everything possible in the game: multiple NRL championships, captaining his state and country to numerous representative victories. He'll most likely break the record for most games played midway through this season, also. And in addition, he seems to be a very down-to-earth type of person.
