In high Heat the stadium below which is a version of BB if i didnt have a CF with a range of at least 8 opposing teams would get atleast 9 ITPHR a season. I know my last yr on HH my RF had 6 ITPHR.

also posted another version of BB for HH2k3

I have started and stopped an attempt at creating the Baker Bowl several times. I have had a little bit of time recently and had a little more luck at making a park look closer to the Baker Bowl. It still has some refining needed, but here is a tease for what it look like to this point. I will work on finishing it and a couple other fictional parks that are nearing completion over the next few weeks.

YES! YES! YES!

I hope you have the time for an authentic looking Colt Stadium, Pilots, and Parc Jarry too!

Baker Bowl update

I made a little more progress on the Baker Bowl. Cleaned up the home plate stands to make some more room in foul territory and added a covered overhang in the home plate seating. Just need to add some dugouts and the infield dirt strip between home plate and the mound and it should be done.

This looks like its gonna be great, I like the character of the stadium and even though its a recreation of an old park I wouldn't mind using in my modern leagues for a rundown area.

Blueturf, I love your work. And have used it many times in my leagues in the past.

Have you ever considered doing a few fictional parks depicting 19th Century Parks? real early stuff. What I would like to see is anything with the feel of 1870-80-90, fictional, historical, or a mix. Something with trees for a background, wooden stands and fences ect. I think it would be a new direction to go with Stadium Images that might be interesting.

Do you know if any of your contemporaries ahve done anything like that?

One more time, Love what youve done, thanks for making my game even better than what OOTP sold me. As a modder for MVP05 I know the dedication and work that goes into any mod.
Thank You
Dave

I think this one may be done...

I may be done with this one, but thought I would look for input on additions before it is finalized. I decided to go with the fence from the High Heat image ChicagoFan76 provided. I haven't been able to get the strip of dirt from the mound to the plate to look how I want, so I may leave it out.

I changed the background buildings and I think I prefer the less congested version. I am open to any comments, including suggestions for minor changes to make another version into a park for fictional use.

looks good...2 comments/questions... the grass in CF is that staying? and when u release final version will it be large like the rest of yours? i like yours slightly more then the High Heat because yours is from a less higher view.

I cant figure out how to do a quality screenshot from lower. I have a few other really old High Heat parks, if u want to tackle them. Palace of the fans is 1 of them, dont know how accurate it is though.

Very little of what you see is actually drawn. I rely heavily on existing material and cut-n-paste, then fill in the blanks. I usually don't try to recreate historical parks since it is easier to not be restricted in the format and my league is set in a fictional world. Baker Bowl kind of happened by accident. I'll take a look at those parks and see if any that I have that are partially finished could be done fairly easily.

Yes the final version will be larger like the rest. I have intended for the CF grass to stay. Most of the photos I have seen of the park had grass all the way to the wall in center - granted none of the outfield grass was any better than a cow pasture.

The mods for MVP05 are pretty epic, especially the stadium mods. I wish I had the game so I could get an OOTP perspective shot of the historical stadiums they have made over there.

If you're talking about those MVP modded parks, I've been trying to get them for some time now with no luck. I have some from Padresfan's site, but there are a ton more it seems that I've never seen. Especially from the early 1950's

MVPmods - Home

thats the site i think you refere to, its the most active. Yea modding MVP05 parks is Almost impossible and there were only a few guys who could do it, and they have moved on. There is still one or 2 guys who can do partial changes of stadiums but that is about it.

Blue Turf, what i was hoping to see was a fictional stadium in teh style of the 19th century, not a recreation, im sure it would be hard to do a recreation much justice with the limited resources available. But rather something to represent a 19th century, deadball era stadium, all wood, circular pillars ontop of grandstands type stuff.

thanks for considering it.

PS BlueTurf, ;-) if that pick up above is of a Tiger Stadium, it truely is fictional, as there ahsnt been that many trees in one spot in Downtown Detroit since the 19th Century

lol

Baker Bowl was in Philly home of the Phillies from 1892ish to 1932ish. til they moved into Shibe. I didnt look on the other pages for Tiger Stadium.

its all raw, I did them on Paint, not photoshop but i think they grab a way back feel. especially because they are kinda grainy. and the origional painting is an 1880s park.

This would be used for that chicago team that had 100+ HRs in the 19th Century when every other team had 20.

Im working on one more that bases off this one, and i may try to really tear it apart and come up with something totally different. They are ugly, but it gives me a feeling that im not in 1940 or 1970 or 2010.

BakerBowl

Here is the finished version of BakerBowl - certainly not a completely accurate rendition, but hopefully it is close enough for those of you that were looking for more historical parks.
In the next couple of days I will put up a version without the Phillies reference so it can be used for fictional as well.
