At this rate, I'm predicting the All-Star break. Personally, I can wait as long as things are done right. I'd hate to see the game rushed to market and then fail miserably. Better to take it slow and get it right the first time.

I'm predicting discontent, impatience, and unhappiness.

It's always been that way with certain people on this board who haven't learned the virtue of patience. Hopefully, they'll mature eventually.

This game isn't a microwave dinner, it's a slow-cooked product. And like all slow-cooked food, it's incredibly rich and tasty, unlike salt-laden mass-produced garbage.

Good things take time to do right.

Yes, but unfortunately, we have a case here where the chef knew he had a large party arriving at a specific time and hasn't even turned the oven on yet. Hopefully he's used the time to pour over his list of ingredients and added something new and exciting (like better playoff customization!). Perhaps the guests will accept that dinner will be a little late and will politely discuss the wonders of the gourmet meal they're about to receive. But I wouldn't be at all surprised to hear a few of them complain that the chef knew they were coming and what was he waiting for. Won't get dinner ready any faster, but they'll feel better anyway.

Having patience does not mean one cannot be disappointed at potential news of a delay in the release, and then vent that disappointment (hopefully with tact) here on this message board.

I will obviously be disappointed if this news is in fact true, then I will go on with my life.

I agree, July 1 with a game that needs little patching would be far better than Opening Day or even May 1 with a rushed product.

I'll actually go so far as to say that I hope the release date will be pushed back, but I'm afraid it will be released closer to opening day than the end of spring.

I know it makes sense from a business standpoint for Markus to get the game out there as close to the start of the season as possible, but I see so much potential for OOTP 12, I don't want it to be rushed out the door. I'd much rather see the full slate of new features properly implemented and the beta thoroughly tested before releasing it to the public... even if that means waiting until as late as June.

As I do, a rushed game with game killing bug isn't fun. Anyway OOTP 11 is always fun to play and the game is almost flawless (one of the reason why I continue to play it everyday since I received my pre-order last year).

Better to be late than having a game who won't be fully playable untill the end of summers. So no problem for me to wait june or july to get my pre-order for this year version.

Just stick with 11 and pretend that 12 does not exist. That strategy worked for me and MLB the Show 10. I went from 9 to 11 and nary missed a beat

If anything, it's probably a good sign....perhaps they are trying to cram in as many new options/ features as they possibly can.

It takes time to get those Pitcher Triple Crowns to show up in history.

Maybe I'm being greedy but it would reeeealy help a lot if cubbyfan would show up like batman and release an updated roster set for version 11.

i want to start an online league, but I've got to wait for 12 to some out. I might try to pull off what cartman did in that one episode of south park and freeze myself till its out.

Careful mike, you might end up getting treated like Teddy Ballgame if you're unlucky.

I may be misremembering slightly, but by the time March rolled around, the beta had been going on for over a month in both cases.

Now, there could be some reasons for that which should not cause alarm. For example, it could be that the development team is testing more before getting the beta started so that the beta team has a more stable build. Naturally, it could just be that Markus is taking longer to begin beta because he's still busy with things. Either way, it's all just speculation from us non-beta testers. We also have no insight into how long the beta period will take, and that depends somewhat on how many issues are discovered that will need to be fixed.

Do you have to be a hall of famer to be a beta tester? And i imagine you had to preorder? I would someday like to beta test.

No, to both questions.
