I've searched all messages and cannot find this addressed, so if someone knows if this is coming, let me know:
Early in a season, the ERA for a pitcher who hasn't completed a full inning is not correct to the last decimal. For example, after 1/3 of an inning and one earned run, the program (in all screens that I've looked at), calculates the ERA as 27.03, instead of 27.00. This seems to continue until IP exceeds 3-4 and therefore the missing fraction is no longer relevant. It seems the program is using .33 or 33/100 for the 1/3 of an inning? Using versions 4.0b and 4.0c produce the same result. I'm too new to know what the ERA fix in 4.0a was. Of course, if I didn't follow the Detroit teams, this might not be an issue. Thanks. |

This is correct and your assesment as to its cause is correct. In the end though, I'm not sure its a significant enough error to worry about.
