How many seasons until league was setup the way you want it

Hey guys,

I'm still a definite newbie...about 60 games into my first and only season...as the 2010 Phillies. My ultimate goal is to try being GM/manager of a fictional expansion team within the MLB framework, and try to build a team from scratch.

Right now, I'm manager of the Phils (and GM, but since all of the options are a bit overwhelming, I'm letting computer handle GM duties), and I'm enjoying the day to day in-game managing aspects.

My question...how many seasons, and different leagues, has everyone gone thru tweaking and adjusting their settings until they got things the way they really want?

And, if you start a season and realize there are league settings you should have changed, or just completely missed altogether, do you basically have to finish the entire season before you can make new changes?

I'm glad -- at least for this first league/season -- that i've got the computer handling transactions, contracts, etc., because it's a bit much for me, but at the same time, i feel like i'm shortchanging my team's potential by not going over every single detail and setting to tweak it to my liking.

a good problem, tho...as i can certainly see how this game can be so addicting, and appealing.

Few months, countless leagues, lol.

You'll keep discovering new tweaks to make it more immersive.

Mr. Met here is correct. You'll be tweaking things and starting new leagues for quite a while before you are comfortable enough in your game knowledge to be comfortable enough with your creation(s).

As far as when to make changes, most things can be changed at any time but some need to be done in the offseason or preseason. Those settings will either be grayed out or otherwise unavailable during the season.

How about never?

Since OOTP version 6.5, I've been playing around with the general idea of re-creating baseball history from 1871 to the present. Countless versions of this league. I'm always finding something to tweak. I've yet to make it past 1904.
