Game Start Question

I'm trying to start a standard league with 2010 rosters..everytime I try, it starts with fictional rosters...dont' remember having this problem last time I started a new league.

Did I screw something up?

There is only one way you can get the RL 2010 rosters: by playing the 2010 MLB game. That rosters in that game were created by volunteers who spent substantial time on the project. There was no other way to do it, because there was no Lahman DB for 2010 yet. The last year you could get RL rosters any other way would be 2009.

Gotcha. I thought one of the patches included the 2010 draftees. I thought it was just a game update..not another roster pack. I have it on my desktop, but here on my laptop...maybe I'm wrong..haven't been on my laptop in a while.

yeah Steve is right i misread the OP yeah in standard game u will always have fictional players, u should be able to check import historical rookies but i havent tried that on a 2010 sn. but u will have Bryce Harper and others in a 2010 MLB game from the startup menu.

Ok, just want to make sure I have this right.

I have to created a historical league with 2009 rosters..then 2010 draft will include the 10 or so real MLB draftee's including Harper.

If I created a standard league, it will have ficitional players, no real ones.

No, not unless you have the 2010 Lahman DB. The Lahman DB that comes with OOTP 11 doesn't know anything about Bryce Harper. So no way for the game to produce him for you.

Correct,When u play a Historical game the game only produces talent for players that played MLB for that yr/next yr....so when u draft in Noevember of 2009 for 2010 Harper wont be in there and I am not sure if Strasburg will be either.

To have both Harper and strasburg u want to start a 2010 MLB game from the main menu

I was using the 2010 MLB game start up off the main menu..gave me fictional players.

I reinstalled the game and all is good now..I knew I wasn't doing anything wrong. Guess I had screwed up my roster file somehow.
