Pitch vs Pitch Around
I have tried using both pitch and pitch around in-game and I haven't noticed a difference between the 2.
Can anybody tell me the difference between pitch and pitch around and when I should use one or the other? Thanks. |

Small sample size warning. How many times have you done it?
![]() As for usage, just like real life. I use (more correctly used to use) it when first base is open 3B or 2B or both occupied and a big time hitter is up. Using pitch around increases the chances of a BB. Most of the time now I do an IBB or just pitch.

If you really want to fine-tune things, you could primarily use pitch around for heavy hitters who also have low ratings for eye. You increase the chances of a walk any time to use pitch around, but you may also get an easy K.
