One year into it's existence and the Twins are already renovating Target Field. They are adding a second scoreboard in right center field as well as a "Twins Tower" which is some kind of vertical ribbon-like message center. You can see both in this picture:
They are also adding additional area heaters plus more limestone accents throughout the park and have said they are looking at even more food options for 2011. (Yes- I have died and gone to heaven.)
The one renovation they AREN'T making in 2011 is to move the fences in. Either the Twins are content to compensate for their pitch-to-contact pitching staff with this big-playing park or else they want one more year of data before making a decision.
Nice article today in the Minneapolis Star Tribune on Earl Santee, the head architect from Populous (formerly HOK) who designed Target Field. His would be my dream job. Here is a link to the story:
