In-game Position Changes

I'd like to see the AI be smarter about position changes made during the game. For example, if I have two guys in the lineup who can play a pretty good shortstop and one gets hurt, slide the other guy over from 2B to play SS. Instead the AI takes a guy from the bench with a 1 rating at SS.

I agree that this is a good idea. The AI should first try to fill the positions with the available players, at least the important ones (C, CF, SS...). If that means that a player should be moved to a different position, then the AI should do that. If that doesn't help, then substitutes should be used.

It was suggested that to compensate for these AI flaws, out-of-position players are unrealistically skilled at fielding in OOTP. If the AI is improved in this area, outfielders at catcher or first basemen at short stop could also finally modelled being as bad as they should be...
