Help Me OOTP5
After a viral nightmare I have just reloaded my computer with the Lahman 2009 data base. I am running OOTP5 ( because I love it's simplicity). I have been playing OOTP for years.
After loading the new data base I did a Historical 2009 League. Added 2 expansion teams to the Al and you know the drill from there. I re did the schedule. At this point average games ran 66 to 65 runs. One score was 268 t0 Minus 1. I once had the reverse problem where after getting a new computer I averaged 1 to 0 35 inning games. What did I do wrong? |

It appears that up until the 2003 season the game functions normally. After that each game issues hundreds of base on balls. For example Gary Sheffield went 2 for 3 with 22 RBI. It also list 90% of the outfielders as center fielders. Are there other data bases that will work with OOTP5?

Yeah you need to find the database that was compatible with OOTP5. OOTP5 I think came out 5-6 years ago... So the Lahman 2009 database will corrupt your game file. Every year the Lahman people change their database to improve it, which makes it incompatible with other versions of OOTP.

I have something called Lahman54_csv that I saved on CD-R years ago that I use for my current game of OOTP5 [I play OOTP11 as well as OOTP5
].The file is 6.3 MB. Could I upload it here?

Workin' (sorta)
I was able to download the Lahman 5.7 data base. I say that it has players thru 2009. The Master file semi confirms that. With ootp5 it will only load up to 2007 on a historical league. Previously 2003 was a far as I could go. Andy suggestions on how I can play ootp5 with the 2008 season and beyond?

It's nice to see that a few of us are still enjoying OOTP5. As much as I adore OOTP11, there are times when I just have a short while to play and want a simpler game that loads quickly, looks nice and gives me just the baseball management fix I need.
