I did find some similar issues searching the boards but not exactly what I am seeing.
When I choose "Select Highest Rested Starter next" (not sure on the exact string there but I think you know what I mean) it doesn't seem to do what I would expect. So the situation is that I have a 5 man rotation and #4 just finished pitching. Starters #2 and #5 are not tired (don't show as yellow). It always seems to pick starter #5 to start the next game even though #2 is not tired. I tried switching the policy bakc and forth from strict to start highest rested but it didn't seem to change. Maybe I don't understand what the option is supposed to do. The other thing I notice is when I manually change who pitches when they are not tired. In the above example starter #5 gets picked automatically but I change it to #2. I have been finding that #2 usually gets knocked around really bad if I pick him ahead of when the AI picks him to start even though it says he is not tired. Is there some kind of problem with the setting of the tired status on starting pitchers? It is most evident in games where a starter gets smoked and only picthes 1 or 2 innings. It shows him as being ready to pitch the next day or 2 days later. If I put him in as soon as it says he is not tired then he seems to get yanked early or knocked around again. Thanks for any help, -Darryl EDIT - forgot to mention version. I am using OOTP5 with 5.10 patch. Last edited by darrylr; 05-20-2003 at 01:19 PM. |

First issue was explained by Markus not so long ago. Basically, the AI skips 1 and 2 in certain scenarios to avoid them starting an unrealistic number of games.
