Can't trade player for some reason

I'm currently playing a 2010 regular season on OOTP11 as the Oakland A's. I was trying to trade my right fielder Jack Cust a few times at the deadline, but most were rejected. I tried to trade him a few more times at the deadline, but the game said that he was already part of an offer, so I can't trade him. I looked through the pending offers, and there was no deals with his name, and I cleared all offers with the teams I offered him to, but it still said he was part of a pending deal.

I ignored it until the offseason, when I tried to trade Cust again, but it still said that he was part of an offer. Again, I checked pending offers and I went through every team and cleared all possible offers I had made, but when I tried to trade him again, the game popped up and said I couldn't trade him.

Has this ever happened to anyone, and if so, do you have any advice to stop this so I can trade him. Thanks.

My guess is that something caused the trades.dat file in your saved game to get corrupted. I would save a copy of your league, then delete that file and then relaunch your league and let the game recreate that file (you will lose any other pending trades that might be going on). I am not sure what all the consequences of that might be, but you could always go back to your copy if the result is not acceptable. At least that is what I would try.

Okay, but how would I do that? Like could you do a walkthrough of how I would save the league and delete the file?

Cut then paste the file to a remote folder (desktop) while the game is off. Then boot the game and it will rebuild the file (I think). It works for messages dat but I just delete that one.
