Slumping Players

What's the best way to get a player that cant be demoted to the minors out of a slump? Rest them? Just let them play thru it? Other??

You can check to see if he is exhausted, but if he's at 100% then further rest won't help, I don't think. If the game is programmed for a player to have a chance to end a slump with further play, not playing him will not help.

More important is to see if he's unhappy about something and try to fix it, although the only thing that you can fix right away is if he's angry about not starting or being out of position. As we discussed elsewhere, being upset over something can affect player performance, and that could be a bad situation if being upset over his poor performance is itself causing the slump.

Finally, I have seen people say here that "shaking" up the lineup can have a salutary effect on player performance. That could be, especially if the player has a preference for "top" or "middle of the lineup." But I suspect the only thing that really determines what will happen is [playing] time and random game factors.
