Preliminary Ballpark Set
Still no approval - but I wanted to display what the final ballparks will look like if I get an ok to finish them
At this point, I'm assuming I will get approval from the author of the ballpark diagrams to make these available - but I wanted you to see what the set will look like. Here's the first 6 (about 10% of the entire set)... at the bottom is the Baker Bowl as an in-game shot. I'll leave it up to each of you if you want to switch the pitcher / catcher orientation. ![]()

Those are looking pretty sweet Henry. Are there gonna be any modern parks I hope?

What coordinates do you use for the player "boxes"?

Henry - I like what you've done very much. (This would also be an excellent way for owners to do their own fictional parks.) Looking forward to your set as it will be perfect for historical simulations - hope everything with the permissions you need goes okay. Question - has anyone put together a collection of historical park factors suitable for OOTP? I've found a weather website
http://lwf.ncdc.noaa.gov/oa/ncdc.html with the average monthly climate factors for most major US cities in almost perfect format for OOTP. (monthly temp averages, monthly average wind speed, monthly average days with precip.) We already have the spreadsheet to calculate performance based on dimensions. If there is a compiled source of ballpark dimensions, I could produce the Park.dat and Parkconfig.dat files to go with Henry's layouts. Just a thought. Henry might already be ahead of me on this. Either way - kudos Mr. Waugh. Mr. Zifferblatt says take the rest of the day off. TS |

![]() Here are the coordimates used above... To answer a few questions... yes, if I get the proper approvals, I will be doing all the ballparks available (currently 49 of 63 planned by the original author). He hasn't provided approval yet, but he is interested - and he also plans an eventual "3D" set to start after he finishes the last 14 of this series. The biggest problem with the "dat" files is OOTP only handles 50 ballparks on the screen. The set might have to be broken up into 2 "subsets" and the DAT files swapped out depending with you wanted to use.... it would be nice if Markus could add a 2nd screen to the ballparks

Notice how the Sportmans Park photo shows the crook of the second-tier stands around the left-field line foul pole, right above the same thing on the stadium overhead view. Great illustration.
The League Park picture of the left-field foul area bullpen also lines up well with its stadium diagram drawing. |
