I am very Mad
3 times, count 'em, 3 times, the Sixers choked in the playoffs. Game 2 AI misses free throws, they get crushed in OT. Game 5 Atkins drives in and scores. Tonight, 2 point lead with 27.9 seconds, Detroit scored, then Philly did not even get a shot off. Then in OT, they let Billups get a three to win the game. Unbelievable.

Pissed-Ons or Suxers would both get pulverized by the Spurs, Kings, even without Webber, or the Mavericks. No great tragedy tonight.
The failure to get off a shot with 14 seconds to work with was comical.

The Sixers have lost their chance to be the best team in basketball other than the Spurs, Kings, Lakers, Mavs, T-Wolves and Blazers.
Too bad for them.....

Since I am on the subject, there are a few things I want to get off my chest...
-How bad was Keith Van Horn in the playoffs, besides game 6 of the 1st round? Answer: Very bad. The guy is 6'10'', a ok rebounder, a good scorer from the inside and a decent shooter. But he was just horrible. He is soft, he can't play defense. When he does try to play defense, he picks up fouls, then whines about every single foul that is called on him. He needs to get in the weight room, learn how to play defense, and learn how to handle the ball. -The officiating tonight was horrendous, for both sides. These refs have never heard the phrase, "Let them play." They called every single foul, and many other nonextistent ones. I am still mad about that foul they called on Snow to send Billups to the line towards the end of regulation, when Snow got all ball. -The Sixers bench is terrible. It is my belief that if they had at least one guy, such as Corliss Williamson or Tayshaun Prince or even Chucky Atkins, someone that could come off the bench and actually score, then they would have beaten the Pistons. The difference in this series was that the Pistons bench was far better than the 76'ers bench. -Thank you for letting me get that off my chest. - I have one other thing to say, watch out for the Kings. They are underestimated becasue they lost Webber, but they still have a lot of power. -Eck, I think you will be surprised at how well the East will match up with the West, especially now that Shaq and the Lakers are out. I personally think that the East winner will give the West winner a run for their money.

Also, I will definitley give credit to the Pistons, for making every play down the stretch all series, while the Sixers continually choked.
P.S. I think that the Spurs will beat the Nets 4-2 in the NBA finals.

I think that winner of West takes title in 6 games most and will win at least a couple of games by double digit points, especially since I don't see the Spurs being denied. Just my opinion.

I feel your pain twins. I can live with losing, it's part of being a Philly fan
but the way we lost this series is sickening, we all but gave it away. What the happenend to McKie? I love the guy, but how many times did Prince just walk right by him in huge spots. He's supposed to be our defensive stopper, instead he made Prince look like MJ. 5 years at 8 mill (per) left on his contract too And Keith Van Horn.. ugggg, 2 points on 4 shots! shoot the damn ball! At least Coleman showed up every night. Other than Iverson, he was the best Sixer on the court.oh well.. To everyone expecting the west to run away with it.. do not count out NJ. Yes the west (especially the Spurs) would still be the favorites, but with the Lakers gone, it would not surprise me if NJ won it all. Last edited by edm; 05-17-2003 at 03:42 AM. |
