Women Players in OOTP5?

Is it possible to have women players drafted into the minor leagues? Like the way it is done in Baseball Mogul 2004.

Thanks

You can give them women's names, I suppose.

Edit the "names" files in the data folder, I think that there are some in the mods forum already.

That's one of the things I despise most about mogul.. it seems by 2010 your whole team is made of Amy and Abigail.. I don't want that in a baseball game, ruins the realism.

What I despise most about mogul is everything. I used to play that game last year until I came across OOTP. Mogul just doesn't compare to the features that OOTP has. I also agree that the game had way too many women players in it. I believe it may happen someday, but not where half the team is women.

I have not touched Mogul in a couple years but I had no idea it was mixing in female players. Seems very odd.

Yeah I remember picking up Mogul before I found STB and found out woman players were thrown into the mix and didn't like it too much. I think there's an option to turn that off though isn't there?

Didn't you also get robots, aliens, or something like that in one version of Mogul?

Even if you use a female name, the PbP still says HE when making the call:

"Mary Jones is hitting .397 for the Mets. He has hit in 4 consecutive games."

Perhaps Mary Jones is really Bob Jones, but likes to be Mary on weekends, if you know what I mean.

Mogul did allow for female players, and yes, eventually aliens cycled into the game too, in earlier versions of it.

I think there's a good chance a few women might one day make it into the game, but I sincerely doubt that they will ever make up even 10% of the players in a league. I'm all for women having a go of it in sports, and I'd love to see it happen, but it's a fact that men and women are built quite differently. The chance of a woman being able to hit a ball 450 feet is very, very slim compared to a man. I could see a woman being a good scrappy infielder who bunts well, or perhaps even a good pitcher. Mogul just gave them the same abilities as the men, though, which seemed really unrealistic.

That said, it would be cool for OOTP to at least be compatible with the idea of having female players. I mean, some of us might want to sim the AAGPBL or our old little league teams or something. There could be a "gender" variable for players. Perhaps the game would not add women unless you put them in yourself, or you could set the percentage of the league that is women.

Obviously, it's not exactly the most pressing issue, but something to think about.

Anybody have a 1997, 98, 99, or 2000 Northern League roster set for OOTP? If so, then you already have a real woman (Ila Borders) pitching in your league.
