Introduction:

I've participated in quite a few online leagues before, but I am not currently active in any other online leagues so I can commit 100% to this project. I have 2 years' experience as co-commissioner and one year experience as replacement commissioner after that. This was during OOTP5 but unfortunately the league didn't survive the transition to OOTP6. In my experience, the bigger the league, the harder it is to maintain enough active players. So I'm looking for a total of 12 GMs for this league, but will even start with 8 or 10 GMs if we can't get 12 in a reasonable time-frame. I want this to be a very active league so I don't want to just accept anybody who shows interest.

If you are interested in joining this league, reply to this thread with a brief application noting your online league experience (if any), and which other online leagues you're currently an active member of. Please don't over-commit yourself. There will be 2 sims per week, held on Tuesdays and Fridays at 11pm with the sim results uploaded by the next morning.

The first few rounds of the inaugural draft will be held on the forums and then a date will be set to host a live chat session via Skype or IRC to finish the rest of the draft (we'll be manually drafting 40 rounds then auto-drafting the rest).

The league rules are not set in stone, but I'd like to limit any changes to after we have all the GMs together. Any proposed changes will be voted on by active GMs in a democratic manner.

hey brandon id be interested in the league, pending the website stuff. ive been in a league every year since 05. had to quit the most recent as school got pretty hard. im a programmer by nature and can help out if you need c++ or sharp for any editing stuff. thanks.

Please though, if I choose to not join, understand that I do so in my best interests AND yours as I really am looking for the right fit and if this isn't it, it would be better for you that I not join and leave in a season or two. I want to be in something for the long haul and if I don't have that feeling, then I don't want to join a league just for the sake of joining a league. If I do join (if you'd have me even) then I will be a VERY active owner offering article writing, numerous trade talks and even podcasting if the league goes that route.

Pucku33, that's really cool that you are into programming as I am as well, although I don't have experience in C# or C++ although I have a working knowledge of C. I have worked on a few independent projects in Python and RealBasic, which are my languages of choice. Do you have any experience with PHP and SQL? I shouldn't have any problems with setting up the forums, but if I do I may need some help with a couple things.

Brewertoby, it sounds like you're looking for a good solid league to join for the long haul. That's what I am striving for this league to become: a very active, well-knit group of owners that can keep the league lively and going for many years to come. When I was commissioner of the FBL, one of our main ideals was that any league related changes or suggestions would be voted on in a democratic manner, which worked out really well and allowed all owners to voice their opinions on any subjects that were brought up.

I'm really big into article writing too and after a sim I would always write a nice summary of what happened during the sim and posted it on the site's front page. my team would be the Mudville 9, i have uniform/cap/logo for them.

Chicagofan76, the league file is not ready yet but I'm in the process of uploading the league website and message board, I'm actually just waiting for the nameservers to update. Once the site is up, we're going to discuss any changes we'd like to make to the settings listed in this thread, and then we'll draft the first 40 rounds (or whatever we agree on) and then sim the rest of the draft and then we'll be ready for our first season.

I'm sort of interested, but I'd need a DH league, ratings 1-10, and 1/2 month per sim. Season done in 1 month. Questdog's name set with African-American name subset is a must. Starting year in 2001 would be nice. (So you can tell at a glance how many seasons the league played). Sticking with Canadian theme, I'd choose Windsor.
