What the Bruce?

Finally, a superstar named Bruce. All he needed was a manly nickname like "Groundhog."

What the Bruce?

The home crowd chants "Broooooooooooooooce" every time he comes to the plate, which prompts wives to ask of their armchair-sitting, game-viewing husbands "Why are they booing him?"

Hey dont knock groundhogs. I remember a couple of times Punxsutawney Phil was in need of some anger management.

A nickname more befitting of a sinkerballer.

Do you actually have a sound clip installed for this?

If not, it might be fun for you to find a 5-10 second .wav file on the internet of fans chanting "Broooooooooooooooce" and then save it in your sounds file as 'Bruce_Franklin.wav' (It'll play every time he comes up to bat! )

Question

You didn't have a Bruce Sutter in your league? I thought you played historicals (or pseudo-historicals).

EDIT: Ah, I see that 'Bruce' was actually Howard Sutter's middle name. I can see why he changed it….

Nah. Although I've thought of historical and may partake someday, I've been strictly a solo fictional player.

Honestly, I cannot recall ever seeing in any of my leagues any player named "Bruce." First name or last.

It appears that OOTP inserted "Bruce" in the names file for the first time in this version. Moreover, I believe they did this as a tribute to me, in recognition of my steadfast support for this game over the years.

Thank you, OOTP. What the Bruce?

Bruce was in the first name list I compiled for OOTP's use years and years ago.

If you're playing pre-1947 American baseball, then the All-American Mod (a namefiles/ethnicites/nation/cities file pack) is for you.

Epic would be if Bruce's last name were Day.

"Now hitting fourth..... Groundhog Day!"

Oh crap, now I have to play the game all over again.
