Quickstart vs. Template

What's the difference between a Quickstart and a Template?

Someone can probably fill in other details, but here's how I use them:

Template
After I set up my subleagues, names, divisions, draft dates, ages of created players, strategies... basically all the stuff in the SETUP screens, and before I actually hit the START game button, I save this league as a template. If I don't like the players that are created or I make a mistake I can set up a new league, import my template and have all the league parameters and info ready to go.

Quickstart
I use quickstarts after I set everything up, start game, load all the team colors and uniforms, set up minors, etc. The players have already generated and it's the Inaugural draft (or January 2 of the first year.) Now if I screw something up I can come back to that moment in time and not have to recreate all my team colors, ballparks, etc. (Sometimes it's fun to save a league as a qucikstart right before the draft, draft your team, play a few seasons, and then reload the quickstart as a different game, draft different players and see what the changes are.)

Hope that makes sense. I imagine people use them in lots of different ways.

Thanks for your response.

So, if I understand correctly, a Template saves the structure of a league setup but not the details -- players, teams, etc.

And then a Quickstart saves the whole package in its entirety -- same teams, players, etc.

Thanks again for your help!

Yes, that's a great way to put it. (A lot simpler than mine.)

But I think it's all about fictional leagues. Anything that is even partially historical, I don't think there is really a difference. Because the historical players load before you do anything to setup.
